A new rustic birdhouse I’ve built. Fun!

A humongous birdhouse I crafted from bark I peeled from rounds. The perches were turned on a lathe, scored, and flattened. The ceiling and base are from the same log. The roof is affixed with long wood screws and further glued. I then fired the piece to bring out the grain and wormy pattern in the wood. The seems are a slurry of sawdust and wood glue. Holes and gaps were left to assure airflow and heat dissipation. All entrances and exits were caused by branches forming through the outer bark and are completely natural. Inside has a roost spanning the full diameter. This is a two-story sized birdhouse with several entrance and exit spots. Despite its chonky appearance it is weighing in right at a light 6lbs. I have since painted the leading edges of the roof, the perches, and much of the base in an aged copper wash that though green shimmers with bright copper. Made for a fantastic effect! Will post more pics later.
