Check out this extremely rare and desirable G***k model 19 (Gen3) Factory Blank Firing Movie Prop which was specially built for use in the movie T3 “Rise of the Machines”. This pistol was part of a series of 16 pistols ordered by Stembridge Gun Rentals from the G***k factory.

The original order consisted of 4-each model 19, 26, 21 and 34 pistols that were built to function only with blanks. G***k achieved the blank firing capability by building the guns with the straight blow-back locking system as their simunition training pistols and then adding a restriction to the barrel, near the muzzle, in order to create the back-pressure required for semi-auto cycling. To our knowledge, these 16 guns were the factory’s only foray into producing blank-firing movie guns.

G***k gave these guns the ETM serial number prefix and numbered them sequentially. The serial number on this pistol is ETM400US. Please not that the barrel is numbered ETM401US, which is easily explained as an error in reassembly by the prop department during the filming of the movie, which was never spotted as it wouldn’t have affected the function. We don’t feel that this has any impact on the collectable nature of the pistol, and if anything, adds credence to it’s use in the movie.

Shown here is a very rare, original Browning Medalist in the highly desired Renaissance Series. This .22LR semi-auto pistol wears a set of original left LEFT-HANDED target grips in the traditional oak-leaf border checkering. The metal on the renaissance series is highly engraved and “coined” in a light gray high-luster finish. Only 382 of these pistols were manufactured by Browning from 1970-1975. This pistol, Serial number 40385T71, was made in 1971. It’s unclear how many of these were offered with left-handed thumb-rests, but it couldn’t have been very many.

The Medalist Renaissance is considered one of the most highly collectible rimfire pistols ever made. Keep in mind that less than 400 of these were ever made, and the last one rolled out nearly 50-years ago

Here is extremely rare and desirable MBA Gyrojet Mark II model C, 12mm pistol, serial number 170. The Mark-II Mod C was introduced in 1970 in order to meet the new federal rules in place regarding destructive devices. This variation of the Gyrojet features a 12mm bore, which is very lightly rifled, thus avoiding legal issues.

Production on the Mod-C begun, presumably at serial number 1 but the lowest recorded number is 096, with the highest recorded being 606. This pistol, serial number 170, does not appear on Mel Carpenters’ census on known Gyrojets, but it’s normal for previously uncounted guns to appear on the marketplace from time to time.

MBAssociates was a California Company began by Robert Mainhardt and Dr. Arthur Biehl in the early 1960’s. Both had extensive experience at the highest echelons of the US defense Industry, including participation in the Manhattan Project. They began MBA in order to pursue experiments with small arms that fired self-propelled “Mini-Rockets”. The result of their development was the Gyrojet! Originally offered in 13mm (later in 12mm in order to comply with new Federal laws), the Gyrojet concept proved functional but was never really able to overcome issues caused by production of the rockets as well as overall limited performance limitations. Ultimately, the whole project became simply a highly collectible footnote in fi****ms history, albeit one that enjoys a nearly cult following.

Happy Sunday! Like we always say, we’re about far more than guns here at Camarillo Traders. Presented for your viewing pleasure are three US M1917 WWI “Brodie” helmets with varying degrees of theater applied embellishment commonly known as “trench art”.

It was common for bored “dough-boys”, as soldiers of the American Expeditionary Forces were known, to alter their helmets to better adapt with the environment of their sector of operation, or simply as a way of expressing pride in their unit. The personalization could be as simple as painting on their unit patch, like the 78th Infantry Helmet pictured, or as elaborate as the two M1917’s sporting a healthy dose of “sector camo”. These will be going up for auction soon, but as always, please feel free to reach out with any questions.

We hope you enjoyed sharing a little bit of your Sunday afternoon with us and these amazing examples of memorabilia from the “war to end all wars”.

Good Morning! Presented for your viewing pleasure is a simply outstanding condition C**t factory nickel 1877 Double Action, also known as the “Lightning” with a 4-1/2” barrel, chambered for the .38colt round.

The 1877 was C**t’s first real foray into the concept of the DA revolver. It remained popular for years due to it’s compact design and C**t ended up making over 166k total production. The 1877 has built a bit of a cult following due to its reported use by high-profile outlaw William H. Bonney (in .41colt). The .38 was colloquially known and the “Lightning” and the .41 C**t was known as the “Thunderer”. A rarely seen variant in .32 was known as the "Rainmaker".

Look at the luster on that original nickel finish, as well as how the fire blue on the small parts just “pop”… you really appreciate how beautifully finished fi****ms from that era really were.
We hope you enjoyed sharing your morning coffee with this amazing and rare C**t pistol.

Camarillo Traders Historical Spotlight of the day. C**t USN Marked 1851 Navy Richards-Mason Conversion.

Presented for your viewing pleasure is an extremely rare C**t 1851 Navy, originally ordered by the United States Navy in 1857 and subsequently converted post Civil War to fire the .38 C**t cartridge using the Richard’s Mason system. At total of 2097 pistols were slated to be converted by C**t for the USN during the mid to late 1870’s, but it’s generally agreed that only about 1000 of them were completed. This pistol carries both the USN markings on the butt, and the R.W.M.(ANCHOR) under the barrel. The RWM (Commander Richard W. Meade) inspectors marking signifies that it was inspected at the New York Navy Yard after conversion. Only the pistols returned to the New York Navy Yard carry the post alteration inspector’s marking, so it’s provenance is easily attributed. It’s estimated that fewer than 100 of these pistols survive today.

Condition is overall excellent, particularly when taking into account the fact that these were issued for shipboard usage during the war, and continued to be pressed into service for many years afterward.

We hope you enjoyed a look at this rare firearm. As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions. 805-702-1101
