It is with a heavy heart that I share the news that my mother, Mary Ann Wedlock, a cherished member of Crescent Chapter No. 45 and a resident at Evergreen Place, passed away yesterday, while her passing brings sorrow, it is also a blessing as she is now at peace.
A wake is scheduled for Monday, September 23, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, MA. The family will be holding a private graveside service at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Good Cheer Fund for Evergreen Place. Donations should be made payable to New Hampshire Eastern Star, 196 Main Street Suite 20, Nashua, NH 03060.
Mary Ann (Johnson) Wedlock was born on October 13, 1937, to Steve and Siri Johnson. She grew up in Stamford, Connecticut, where she enjoyed gardening, horseback riding, and spending time with her mastiff dogs. After graduating from Simmons College with a degree in Nutrition, and later receiving her MS in Education from Harvard, she taught High School Home Economics before dedicating herself to family life.
Mary Ann was best known as the owner of the Knittin’ Kitten yarn shop in Cambridge, which she operated from 1979 until 2019. She was passionate about helping customers with their knitting projects and building a sense of community through her love of crafting.
She leaves behind two children, my sister Karen Wedlock-Tuttle and her husband Dennis Tuttle Jr, and myself and my wife Cindy. To her Eastern Star and Masonic family, Mary Ann will be remembered as someone who could always be found working behind the scenes, often in the kitchen, making sure everything was just right for fellowship after meetings.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers during this time.
With warm regards,
Walter C. Wedlock
