A master carpenter in training. I love it. Progress. And, added a stepping stone plus some pea gravel on the walkway. Still gotta get the land Timbers lined out and our plants planted. So hot and dry it’s not a good time to transfer plants.

A little more done today. Met with contractors for the interior wall, wiring and plumbing, lighting, etc. and about H/C. Wiring and walls starting this week coming. To be very honest we are not expecting to be ready by JULY 1st. We are pushing it as hard as we can and we are soooooo excited. Thank you for all the positive feedback and support throughout our area.

“Working on a building” Beginnings of the landscaping. And it shall be blessed with the green thumb of our mother (Myrtle Lee). Please forgive us for the grass being too high. The mower needs blades. We met a super nice new friend, a new father, working at Lowe’s in Hazard today. It’s not always a good experience to get out in public. He loaded the truck for us. We talked a little about trying to afford to live right now, but appreciate being able to pull through. And I want to thank Kim and Tim Spencer for their help with some things. We try not to skip anyone in this adventure. We try to appreciate friends. God bless and have a great weekend. Prayers for those having hard times, going through a loss, or just needing a friend.

We are working diligently to get the store open. We are taking donations. You can message me privately. (OT Watts) We will eventually have a telephone number for the shop, which will have an answering service, and we will have signs. We just have a lot to do to get this open, and we are praying to be able to get it open by July 1. There is no guarantee we will make that date, but that is what we are pushing for. As we get stock, we will be posting photos and videos. We plan on having fun, and we want to let everyone know that we're not here to compete with any other store because every thrift store is different. People who are like us and love thrift stores go to all of them. We know that, and that's what we hope to provide to people in our community. Beyond that, we have plans for the nonprofit to do some really good things. Some people have discussed partnering with us, and it could be beneficial. We hope that it is. Please pray for us and spread the word because soon this will be open for everyone to see, and we will be running wide open. There have been some people that have helped us so much to this point, but they aren’t much into telling on themselves and leading the left hand know what the right hands doing kind of thing bragging on themselves. Chris Mary Donna Sandy dena, Deb, Colin, Drewey, Donnie , Bear, just pop up with a few names. Everyone knows that I can’t remember squat so please don’t think that I have forgotten anyone. I’m just not good at that. We love all the people that love us and help us and we thank God for everyone of them.
Hoping how soon will be sitting on the porch in the swing eating fried apple pies and drinking a cold pop well maybe you find a pair of shoes or a pair of pants or an old frying pan or something like that and you never know. Happy picking!!!

The rain had certainly slowed down progress but the floor is painted and some shelves are in place. Looks like we’re probably going to have to get a little more gravel as it settles but the property seems to be draining exceptionally well. I was only maybe one or two mud puddles with always rain. It’s just gonna take us a little time, but we have great feedback from a lot of people And we hope this turns out to be a great thing for the community and us. When you put what you have into something you want it to be a good thing. A lot of people are asking questions about what is going to have in this and that and I’m just tell you it is going to be par for an O.T. and Ann type of place. If you have been a customer of ours previously, you would probably like what we’re gonna have. We are looking at all types of options so we are probably going to have some retail things as well as thrift and secondhand and a antique collectibles type stuff. We are old pickers and we love our old stuff and we love being able to help people find good clothing for only two dollars And yes, it will continue as two dollars as long as we can manage that the purses and shoes may vary from that and may be a dollar or two more here and there and some other things as well, but we do not intend to try getting rich overnight and having high prices on anything.
We are looking at having maybe a few more expensive items, but we do intend to continue the level of deal on those items. We don’t look it up and try to get what someone has priced on Facebook or Etsy or eBay. We will be looking things up to see if they have any value . Because it’s bringing $200 in Texas doesn’t mean it’s going to bring $200 at Vancleve, Kentucky, and we are very much aware of that that’s kind of our philosophy if you’re not familiar with us. And we certainly intend to leave you with a smile. A big part of what we do is going to be community outreach that will tell some more specific things that it certainly entails the fact that part of why we sell is for selective nonprofits. So a percentage certainly goes back out into the community. It’s not that we have to do that. It’s just that’s what we believe in and that’s what we want to do. We will have advertisements and will have specific directions and and dates and times of hours of operation, etc. when the time comes. We have started this from scratch. We have built a building. Everything is new. It’s just gonna take time to get it there. God bless you and thank you. Please don’t forget Memorial Day and remembrance of the people that served and sacrificed so we could have what few little things we have.
