Made a fun ink and watercolor painting today of a bouquet that my husband made for me. I hope you enjoy it too!

Well, I’m not doing , but here is a recap of all the watercolor (& sometimes ink) paintings I made last month for my own little challenge to make and post every day in September! I feel proud of myself for making it all the way through.
Which one is your favorite? I’m partial to the chonky little toad.

I made it all the way through my art challenge! This is my last day of making and posting every day in September! Finishing up with painting a yellow lady slipper. I found these for the first time this spring, after searching for them for Years, and it was such a magical experience. They. Are. Gorgeous.

Big thanks for following along on this art-making challenge! I had fun, and I hope you did too. Stay tuned for more art and art supplies!

Did a twofer today: mountains viewed through autumn trees and some purple gentians. This is for day 29 of making and posting daily in September (one more day left!).

As always, I used my handcrafted watercolor paints, featuring ultramarine purple for the gentians, along with the split primary Mixing Palette. Paints are available at honeycombartcompany.com (or see the link in bio).

It’s been two years since Helene hit Western North Carolina. Today, under the most perfect autumn sky, I thought about the wildness of the storm, and the strange stillness that came after. I thought about the people and the things that we lost when the water came. But while I vended my art outside the reopened Marquee in the recovering River Arts District, I also felt an intense gratitude for how far we’ve come. And I thought about the remarkable way our community came together in the wake of so much destruction.
There are a lot of beautiful and heartbreaking reflections being posted today. I don’t have a lot of words to share, but I did paint some autumn mountains (or muddy waves?) using local soil for today’s watercolor painting.
If you were there, I hope you’re being extra gentle with yourself and your people today. I know it can be hard to see all the photos and videos again. I’m sending extra care your way! 💚

It’s been a minute since I made a new whimsical cat painting, so I started one for day 25 of making and posting daily in September! I’ve wanted to paint a black and white kitty, and an Oreo “costume” seemed fitting. What color do you think I should I make the background?

This was painted with my handcrafted watercolor paints (available on my website, see link in bio)!
