What’s considered “dead space”? The areas within a room that aren't living up to their full potential due to poor floor planning. Some examples of dead spaces in your home are empty corners and unreachable areas blocked by furniture.
The right spatial planning “floor plan” will maximize your room’s potential and enhance your everyday life. Here are a few things to consider when creating a new floor plan for your space (note: there are several that I will be sharing in the coming days):

1. The structure of the room
✨Is the room oddly shaped, which makes furniture placement challenging?
✨Is there a fireplace?
✨Are there baseboards?
✨Keep in mind the location of vents and outlets

2. Does the layout of your space complement your day-to-day routine?
✨Is there enough walkability space around the furniture?
✨Do you have plenty of storage for games, books, toys, blankets, throws, etc.?
✨Is there enough seating? If you have a smaller space and need a lot of seating, consider poufs, ottomans, benches, or a corner nook.
