I am considering shutting down my Etsy shop, a notion I have entertained repeatedly.
Yesterday, I received a review from a customer who did not attempt to contact me prior to posting her feedback.
She assumed that she had been sent the incorrect pattern due to a discrepancy between the image on the pattern cover and the primary image in the Etsy listing.
However, the pattern cover image was indeed included among the multiple pictures in the listing. The only difference was the addition of nostrils, which were provided as an optional feature with the pattern she received.
After I publicly responded to her review, she messaged me, demanding a refund and threatening to continue leaving negative reviews if her demand was not met.
I regret to inform, that I do not offer refunds on digital items, as there is no physical means of returning the pattern once it has been added to her Etsy purchases.
This policy is in place due to previous instances of customers purchasing patterns under the assumption that they were buying finished items, only to demand refunds after realizing their mistake.
Additionally, some individuals have attempted to deceive me by claiming they do not know how to crochet, only to request a refund after receiving the pattern.
As the owner of this business, which I have built from the ground up, I will operate it according to my own discretion. I will not acquiesce to the demands of a rude customer.
Had she contacted me initially and inquired about the discrepancy in the images, I would have been more than happy to provide a response.
However, she will not receive a refund or any further communication from me.
If she wishes to pursue this matter further, she may contact Etsy directly.
Traci,
I will pray that whatever circumstances led you to behave in such a manner towards me will improve, and that you will take this as an opportunity to learn how to communicate with others in a more respectful and in a more considerate way.
Amen. 🙏🏼
