When it’s been raining for days and you can’t drive the truck up the hill to the barn to unload feed… you get creative. 😂

Creativity isn’t just for making things. Sometimes it’s using a plastic snow sled to haul a 50 lb bag of feed because you don’t have the energy to carry it up the hill. 🤠🙄😂

Problem solving at its finest.😂

What a weekend! 💛

Thank you so much to everyone that came out to the Velvet Ice Cream Festival this weekend to shop, support small businesses and say hi. It was so great getting to meet so many new people, chat with customers in person and see so much support for Rustic Petal Creations.

Between the ice cream, car show, music and shopping, it was such a fun weekend, even with all the crazy weather mixed in. 😂 I truly enjoyed being part of the show and already look forward to next year!

And a special thank you to my husband for surprising me by coming out to help with teardown and unloading the truck tonight. Huge help when there’s a bunch of heavy gridwall and displays involved. 😅

As soon as everything was unloaded, I took one of the best naps of my life. 😂

Tomorrow is the last day of the Velvet Ice Cream Festival in Utica - and thankfully it’s also the only day this weekend the crazy rain isn’t supposed to show up! 😂

Grab your family and friends and come enjoy some amazing ice cream, check out the cars at the car show, listen to the band, and shop all the great vendors, including me! 😁

There’s also a great play area for kids, so it’s a fun day out for the whole family.

Y’all, I’m finally starting to feel like all the hard work is paying off. 💃

Today was craft show setup day and I walked over 12k steps, spent several hours on my feet, unloaded, set up, worked the booth… and had very little knee or foot pain. 🙌

Last year that would’ve wiped me out. I swore this year would be different, and it finally is. Still tired but it’s a good kind of tired.😁

Today’s episode of “running your own business” involved me tying tarps down in the bed of my truck and beating the crap out of my hand in the process. 😂

At this point I’d like to file for either Workmen’s Comp, hazard pay, or emotional damages from bungee cords and ratchet straps. But I won the fight! 😂

The glamorous side of craft shows nobody talks about. 🙄

Did y’all know my wreaths were on TV? 😁

It was so exciting to be contacted by their set designer! She’d seen a wreath I had for sale and wanted it, plus 3 more just like it. And this was in March, when Halloween supplies are nowhere to be found. 😂 Thankfully I was able to scrounge up enough supplies to get them made.

The crazy part? This was right as Covid was hitting and they were talking about shutting the country down. I had ONE weekend to get them made and shipped before that happened!

I got them finished and shipped out, then kind of forgot about it for a couple months. October came, I set up the DVR to record the episodes… and nothing. Due to Covid, the episodes were cancelled. 🥲

In October 2021, I decided to record those episodes again just hoping they’d held onto them… and they had!! So exciting!! 💃💃💃

Day 3 of week two of our vendor spotlight. And we continue with Rustic Petal Creations. Here is a fun fact about what she has done!!!

In 2020, Rustic Petal Creations had the incredible opportunity to create four custom wreaths that were featured on the set of the iconic television show Days of Our Lives during their Halloween special event.

The wreaths were displayed on four different doors in the town square set, and throughout the four-day special, each design appeared on screen at various points during the episodes.

The opportunity to have Rustic Petal Creations featured as part of a nationally recognized television production remains a memorable milestone for the business.
