Our FREE Plant Swap is back! 🌿

September 10–12, bring in a healthy plant or cutting you’re ready to pass along and trade it for something new!

Here’s how it works:
Bring a healthy plant or cutting → receive a swap ticket → use your ticket to choose another plant or cutting that catches your eye.

It’s completely free, and you’re welcome to participate whether you’re a longtime plant person or just getting started.

The Plant Swap kicks off Thursday, September 10 and runs through Saturday, September 12, alongside our Fall Open House weekend. Start checking those houseplants now and see what you might have to share!

Meet Razzmatazz 🌹

I spotted this rose at the SAF Convention a few weeks ago and immediately knew I wanted to get my hands on it. Thankfully, our wonderful wholesalers Bill Doran Company - Springfield made it happen!

Razzmatazz is a newer rose variety with the most beautiful dusty mauve, pink and warm terracotta tones. Basically, fall in rose form.

But here’s what we really love about it: this rose is meant to open.

Razzmatazz has a high petal count, around 45–55 petals, and opens into this big, ruffly, almost garden-rose shape. If you’re used to judging a rose by how tightly closed it is, you might look at one like this and think it’s past its prime. It’s not! That full, open shape is part of what makes this variety so special, and it has an exceptionally long vase life too.

Roses have come such a long way. Breeders are developing varieties with different colors, shapes, petal counts and opening characteristics, so a rose doesn’t have to look like the traditional tight red rose we all grew up knowing.

And THAT is the kind of flower nerdiness we love sharing with you.

🍂 Save the date! Our Fall Open House is coming September 11 + 12!

September is always a little extra special around here because it marks 16 years since Carmen and I became the owners of Main Street Florist. MSF was part of our community long before us, and we’re incredibly grateful that we’ve gotten to be part of its story for the last 16 years.

And of course, we’re bringing back our FREE Plant Swap! 🌱

🌻 It's sunflower season... and we're here for every golden petal!
Did you know young sunflowers actually follow the sun across the sky? This process, called heliotropism, helps them soak up as much sunlight as possible while they're growing. Once they mature, they usually face east to greet the morning sun. ☀️

No wonder they're known as the happiest flower!
