Today, I was in Scripps Ranch, back at my client’s house. This time, to help with Interior colors.

Last summer, we did the exterior. So, I was able to get some “after” shots of the exterior.

They felt the old gray colors were too drab, and wanted the house to look lighter and more cheerful.
We used Agreeable Gray, Pure White and Urbane Bronze.
And how about that front door?!
That color is Parakeet.

Love it when a client is so happy, they text before the job is even finished! After a couple years of living with the peach color they disliked- they were ready for this update.

They wanted a soft, classic scheme and a red front door. We used my favorite “front door” red:
SW 7585 Sun Dried Tomato

Happy to have partnered with Katie at Certapro Painting for this Oceanside project.

Next up: a much loved Carlsbad home is getting a makeover. Here’s a sneak peek of the home when I saw it.

After selecting their new paint colors, we chose new lighting, too. I suggested these MCM inspired fixtures when I learned they have several cherished MCM pieces of furniture.

Aren’t these lights fun? They hadn’t thought of fixtures like these, but once suggested - their eyes lit up! Now they’re excited about their renovation again.

(Will post more photos when it’s complete).

Here’s the interior of the Oceanside home from my last post.

How about that wool carpet? It’s cozy, yet chic and surprisingly soft.

We updated hardware and fixtures from bronze “Tuscan” look and chose warm brushed gold finish for the new lights, cabinet hardware and door k***s.

Not only new light fixtures- but new light bulbs too! My favorite simple, yet dramatic, low cost “fix”.

All walls throughout are SW Neutral Ground, ceilings and trim are SW Alabaster.

The interior is still in process- I’m working with the clients to incorporate some colorful accents and artwork now.

They’re delighted- it’s still their home, but refreshed and relaxing. Perfect for enjoying their retirement years.

So often I’m asked “How can I update my home-without tearing out everything”?

Oh my gosh- I got to work with THE sweetest retired couple this past year- who asked that exact question!

They were not interested in demolition, complete disruption of their lives, nor did they want to tear out perfectly good travertine and granite.

So we refreshed the exterior and interior without costly renovations.

Inside and out, got a fresh coat of paint. We replaced carpet and changed out hardware, light fixtures and mirrors.

We worked together over the course of a year to transform their home. They’re now selectively replacing furniture.
I’m pleased to say they’re delighted with results!

Here’s the exterior.

How about this update in San Elijo?

The homeowner was tired of the +20 yr beige/tan scheme, and wanted a completely different look.

We used off white, pale gray and near black for a modern, clean vibe to complement the new landscaping.

Curb appeal is very important- especially in this current market.

That first impression is crucial!
We spruced up the exterior of this home with a simple palette.

1015 Skyline Steel
7005 Pure White
6208 Pewter Green
7017 Dorian Gray

Just completed this project:

EMERALD LAKE VILLAGE
+55 Community

Charming retirement community set on a rolling hillside in Oceanside.

The HOA asked me to:

•Update their primary colors with Sherwin Colors
(They were Frazee colors)
•Select one NEW primary color
•Provide several front door color options

Each home remains its primary color(per CC&R), all will have Alabaster white trim,
but homeowners can now choose their front door color: Alabaster or one of 3 colors I selected- “fun” “classic” or “dramatic”.

Update 12/3:
💥IN ESCROW JUST 3 days after listing💥

This charming 1973 townhouse in Encinitas got a simple paint makeover and is on the market!

We kept the walls and ceilings Pure White- but added a twist.
The baseboards, trim and doors are painted in a cool beige to complete the flooring. We repainted the stair treads, too.
All cabinets were painted a barely-there gray.

Patty Contreras of Compass Realty hosted the Open House this past Saturday & Sunday.
Potential buyers remarked how light, open and calm the home felt.
