Staying tonight at Tira Nanza Winery, a beautiful property just 25 minutes away from CV Village. It was great to meet Sidney Hill; she and her husband Greg own and operate the winery. Sidney’s knowledge and passion for wine were evident as she guided me through the winery and prepared a wine tasting. Their family has owned the property for around four years, and I understand the property was formerly part of the Galante holdings.

All but one of the wines I tasted were estate wines, in other words, wines made from grapes grown on the property. My favorite was the Malbec Rosé, which was light, refreshing, and perfect for the warm day. They also make an exceptional Cabernet, as well as other great wines. They do wine tastings most days and are well worth the trip. Aside from wines, they also offer their own olive oil.

I highly recommend Tira Nanza Winery to anyone looking for an outstanding wine tasting experience. Be sure to ask for Sidney when you visit – her expertise and enthusiasm will enhance your visit in ways you can’t imagine. Thank you, Tira Nanza Winery, for crafting such wonderful memories, one sip at a time!

A lazy day at the Hallcrest Vineyards in Felton, CA owned by the Schumachers since 1987. Great organic wines, and delicate charged ciders. Cora's enjoying the open field and other canine visitors. My first trip with Harvest Hosts. The Schumachers have been great hosts and the property is beautiful.

What are the basic guidelines for an ADU? New state laws have made it easier than ever to build a second unit in California. Check with your local building and planning department for specific codes for your area. Below are general guidelines when planning an ADU: Typically they can be no larger than 1200 SF. Range from 1-2 bedrooms Include kitchen or kitchenette, bathroom, and sleeping space.
