High Point Market is leaning heavily into color, pattern, and trim right now. Fringe. Tassels. Pleated shades. Skirts. Decorative tapes were layered onto upholstery and drapery almost everywhere you looked, which is so exciting because these are things I’ve always loved.

The showrooms and pieces I especially loved were the ones featuring these details. Things that felt collected and a little playful. Upholstery with beautiful lines. Fabrics that seemed to carry a story already. Details that made a piece feel considered instead of generic.

I go to High Point to select vendors and craftspeople I trust, the ones whose quality and approach align with how I want to build for my clients. This means my clients get higher quality, more options, and customization that big retail can’t offer.

We spent time fit-testing cushions and frames, opening drawers, studying finishes, and asking questions about construction and materials. Beautiful rooms are not only about how something photographs. I believe they are about comfort, craftsmanship, and the way a piece lives over time.

It’s exciting to see this layered, whimsical approach becoming part of a larger design conversation again. And even more exciting to bring some of these ideas and resources into future projects. 💛

{Swipe for the before} Upon purchasing our home, we discovered charred wood paneling hidden beneath a thirty-year-old high-pile brown carpet (yes on the walls!) This shaped our design approach: restore authenticity, address damage thoughtfully, and add meaningful touches. We removed the charred paneling and installed chair molding to preserve the original lower walls.

Full-service design meant sourcing with intention—a custom canopy, curated artwork, and furnishings that layer new finds with irreplaceable family pieces: her grandmother’s quilt, patchwork pillows from my childhood, and a small bunny I hand-stitched for her.

It’s these many small decisions, made thoughtfully, that create a room that feels like it was always meant to be.

Color is often chosen room by room, based on what feels right in the moment. And while each space may work on its own, the home as a whole begins to feel disconnected.

A considered palette changes that. It allows each room to have its own character, while still feeling part of something larger. There is a flow and continuity that runs throughout.

If you want that kind of thinking behind your home...the link in bio is where to start.

When you work with us, every choice reflects who you are and how you live. That’s the difference between a beautiful room and a room that feels like home. 💛

Color, Pattern, & Art

That’s what drives me every single day.

I grew up between two worlds: my mom’s creative vision and my dad’s hands-on building. She filled our house with color and personality. He built it well. I learned that design is both beauty *and* function living together.

Now I bring that to every project: spaces layered with color and pattern, but built to work hard for the people living in them. ✨

Heritage, warmth, and a bit of whimsy—that’s what I bring to design.

Ready to create something beautiful? Let’s talk.
🔗 Link in bio to get started.

Here’s how I work:

I work with clients who want character-rich spaces that feel like *them*... where captivating textiles, thoughtful pattern, and intuitive color lead, each piece guided by purpose and classic craftsmanship.

I take a small number of projects each year so I can be fully invested: from concept through installation, I’m with you. When clients feel comfortable engaging fully in the process, we’re able to layer in heritage details, unexpected color combinations, custom upholstery, and the craftsmanship that makes a room feel lived-in and loved.

The result? A home that’s beautiful, functional, and entirely yours.

A little bit of green clovers felt just right for today. 🍀

This bathroom came together in two phases.

The first was building it during our renovation.
The second is what changed everything. Layering.

I wanted the walls to feel like they were growing across the room, so I hand-sketched and stamped the pattern rather than using wallpaper. Watching it build, piece by piece, felt almost meditative.

I love the green, pink, and red together, the café curtain softening the window, and how the layers relate to one another.

As seen in Apartment Therapy

clover wallpaper, patterned walls, layered textiles, floral curtains, gingham rug, traditional interiors, vintage-inspired bath, classic millwork, inset cabinetry, unlacquered brass hardware, lived-in interiors

Paint’s dry. The room’s quiet. Time to bring the layers back.

I love when the design process overlaps with real life.
This room just got a fresh coat of paint, and now comes my favorite part: putting everything back with care, color, and a little bit of love.

Happy almost March!

Interior design doesn’t start with paint.
Or fabric.
Or buying something new.

Those are the fun parts — The room has to work before it can be beautiful.

Save this if you’re planning a room

—and start with the layout first 💛

Pretty hallway moment. Just a good piece doing its job.

Second photo → any guesses what this tiny door was originally used for in a 1940s Cape Cod?

Delft meets Victorian, but lived-in.
Soft blues, warm reds, aged brass, and tile with a past.

Collected, not decorated.
Timeless over trendy.
