Are you afraid to try baking yeast-based breads? I've got tips for you!
1. Make sure your yeast is fresh. "Active, Dry" means that the yeast is still alive and will go about the process of creating leavening. I swear by Fleischmann's, but definitely find a brand you are confident with.
2. Start simple. Don't begin with a 30 ingredient bread. Honestly, French bread is usually 3-4 ingredients (flour, water, yeast, salt). Once you are successful with a simple yeast bread, then move on.
3. Have a trusted pan. I use a Pampered Chef stoneware loaf pan from around 12 years ago. If you have a pan you love, use that one. Remember, many recipes make 2 loaves so having 2 pans is always a good idea. Pampered Chef *still* has the Stoneware loaf pan. Let me know if you need more info.
4. The biggest tip is, try it. Check out these tips and try your first (or your next) loaf.
Pictured is my recent creation based on a King Arthur Flour recipe for Pumpkin Bread. It's a yeast bread and has just a very mild sweetness...it does have some baking spice in it - which makes the flavor ah-maz-ing!
