🏆FROM FLOODED BASEMENT TO BEAUTIFUL NEW FLOORS!

A drain backed up and partially flooded my basement. Looking at the damage, I knew one thing—I'm not putting carpet back down in this basement. I asked around to see who others have used (and recommended) for various flooring projects. The overwhelming recommendation was Variety Floors.

I stopped in the shop to check out options and pick up samples. After looking at the samples in the basement against my furniture, directly under the flood lights, in some darker corners, and throughout different times of day, I settled on the glue-down luxury vinyl planks in "Smoky Bourbon."

Kenny came out and took measurements of the basement, answered my thousands of questions, and discussed various options and solutions to accommodate the basement layout. He said the installers would move around my heavier furniture so I didn't need to worry about temporarily relocating my sectional or massive desk.

Nathan and Josh did the removal of the carpet, padding, and tack strips around the main basement floor and staircase and the removal of the luxury vinyl tiles in the bathroom that had started to pop up. I opted to remove the baseboards before they arrived and intend to replace all the baseboards and refinish the stairs myself. They poured a few layers of self-leveling concrete on the floor to help smooth the uneven surfaces and level the now-abandoned floor drain, then glued down the planks. They also removed the basement toilet, installed the planks to fit around the area, then replaced the wax ring and re-installed the toilet. On the final day, they even helped when I was unexpectedly stung by a paper wasp outside while they were doing cleanup! The whole project took them only 2 1/2 days, with most of that being dedicated to the prep work before the planks could be glued down.

While I wasn't anticipating replacing the basement flooring so soon after the initial basement remodel (in late 2022), I'm so happy with the new floors and the entire process from start to finish working with Variety Floors. Everyone that I spoke to (Danielle, Lisa, Beckett, Kenny, Nathan, and Josh) was fantastic. I will absolutely be using Variety Floors when it comes time to renovate my kitchen and upstairs bathroom. -Stacey R.
