DM for pricing I've always been crafty and have enjoyed repurposing items and giving them new life. A few years ago when my 2 sisters and I had a booth in a consignment store

, one of my sisters was refinishing furniture, the other was painting watercolor and acrylic pieces, and I started making custom signs for the home. I began painting a few years later in my late 50's. I love painting and trying new mediums, and processes. Thank you to all of you who continue on this journey with me by purchasing my signs, or my artwork. I truly appreciate each one of you and your comments and encouragement.

We made it home from our ministry trip to beautiful Jamaica last week with hearts full of gratitude for all the Lord had done, and wonderful memories to cherish. I found endless inspiration for painting in the island's stunning landscapes, and the warmth of the people made our time there even more special. Until next time, beautiful Jamaica! šŸ‡ÆšŸ‡² ā¤ļø

While I haven’t painted in a couple of weeks, I’ve been getting ready for a ministry trip to Jamaica. Just a reminder that creativity never really leaves us — sometimes it simply pauses while life calls us elsewhere. ā¤ļø šŸ‡ÆšŸ‡²

Mother’s Day can be beautiful and joyful, but for many women it can also hold grief, longing, heartache, or loss. Some women long for children, some have lost children, some are estranged from their children, and some are deeply missing their own mother today.

That’s why I love this reminder from Captivating by John & Stasi Eldredge:
ā€œAll women are not mothers, but all women are called to mother.ā€

Women bring life in so many ways — through nurturing, encouraging, mentoring, praying, loving, creating, serving, and caring for others. A woman’s worth is not determined by whether she has physically borne a child.

I especially love Genesis 3:20:
ā€œNow the man called his wife’s name Eve, because she was the mother of all the living.ā€

Eve was called ā€œmotherā€ before she ever bore her first child. What a beautiful reminder that motherhood is bigger than biology alone.

So this Mother’s Day, let’s honor ALL women — the mothers, spiritual mothers, nurturers, mentors, caretakers, those grieving, those waiting, and those faithfully pouring into others every day.

Happy Mother’s Day to ALL women. You are seen, valued, and deeply loved. šŸ¤

We never know what we’re going to see on our bird feeders, and lately they’ve been especially fun to watch.

Check out this beautiful rose-breasted grosbeak! These birds are typically migratory visitors here in Georgia (except for a few in the North Georgia mountains), so it always feels a little special when they stop by.

What really caught my attention—besides those stunning colors—was how different the male and female look. The male is striking with black and white feathers and that bold red patch on his chest. The female, though, looks nothing like him—she’s brown and streaked, with a soft white stripe above her eyes. Same bird, completely different look!

And of course… the squirrels are keeping us entertained with their nonstop gymnastics on the feeders šŸ™„šŸ˜‚ Any tips on how to keep them off? I’m all ears!

I also saw something new this weekend. We have plenty of chipmunks in the yard, but I’ve never seen one on the feeder before. This little guy had his whole head stuck inside the opening like he had found the jackpot.

I love seeing all the birds (and even the chipmunks)… but the squirrels? Not so much šŸ˜…

What’s the most interesting bird you’ve seen at your feeders? And if you’ve figured out how to outsmart squirrels… please share your wisdom šŸ˜„

Not all of my birds in this series are quiet little visitors at the feeder. 😊

Most of my work is done in acrylic, but this one—Hank—was me testing the waters with watercolor for a change.

And honestly… he’s got a bit more personality (and maybe a little attitude too).

I loved playing with the looser brushstrokes and texture—it made him feel even more full of life (and attitude).

Sometimes it’s the unexpected ones that end up being your favorite.

Would Hank make you smile if you saw him in your kitchen? šŸ”

Working on finding the right frame for this one…

Since it’s on paper, it’ll need to be framed—but I love seeing how different styles can completely change the feel of a piece.

This one started to come to life the moment I paired it with this warmer frame.

It’s always fun to see that transition from painting… to something ready for a home.

What kind of frame do you usually gravitate toward for your home?
Do you tend to prefer warmer gold frames… or something more subtle, or modern?

This one feels like joy. šŸ’›

Part of my Songs of Spring series, this little bird looks like it’s mid-song—like it just couldn’t keep it in.

There’s something about that… so full of life and energy, like a small moment of praise right in the middle of an ordinary day. šŸŽ¶

I love how different each bird feels—some quiet and still, others full of movement and expression.

Let’s get back to my ā€˜Songs of Spring’ series… 🪶🪺

This bird felt completely different to paint.
Some birds are soft and quiet… and others feel like they were created to stand out. This little fella is definitely bold and one that stands out!

That beautiful deep blue, the contrast, the presence—it draws your eye in immediately.

I’m amazed at how much personality can come through in something so small.

Do you have any birds that always catch your eye when they visit… or do you tend to notice the quieter ones more? šŸ’™
