"Can I get that recipe?" 😋
WEST VIRGINIA HOT DOG CHILI
INGREDIENTS
• 1 lb ground beef
• 1 tsp chili powder
• 1 tsp paprika
• 1 tsp cumin
• 1 tsp kosher salt
• 1 tsp black pepper
• 1 Tbsp dried minced onion
• 1 Tbsp garlic powder
• Pinch of red pepper flakes
• 2–3 cups water
THEN ADD
• 1 cup ketchup
• ¼ cup brown sugar
• ¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
DIRECTIONS
Add the ground beef, seasonings, and water to a large pot.
Simmer over low heat for 1–2 hours, stirring occasionally and breaking the beef into a very fine texture.
Stir in the ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce.
Continue simmering for another 30–45 minutes, until the chili becomes thick, rich, and full of flavor.
Spoon generously over grilled hot dogs and top with mustard, onions, or your favorite toppings.
The sweet-and-savory flavor is what makes this chili unforgettable. 🌭
