Get ready to kick off the New Year with a splash - literally! Cayucos' 46th annual Polar Bear Dip is just around the corner, bringing together locals, families and visitors for an unforgettable noon plunge into the Pacific.

Join us on January 1 at the Cayucos Pier for an unforgettable celebration that's equal parts spectacle, reunion and heart. Festivities begin at 10 AM with a live DJ, but expect spontaneous dancing, plenty of kooky costumes and bands of musicians performing on the beach - plus crowd voting for best costumes with plenty of raucous cheer!

We're honoring the memory of Carlin Soulé, the one-time owner of the Way Station who started this tradition back in 1981 along with a few friends, family and employees. Now thousands come to Cayucos every New Year’s Day to jump in, cheer on, or simply witness the excitement of this fun ocean tradition sponsored by the Cayucos Chamber of Commerce

Pre-registration isn’t needed to participate. Commemorative T-shirts will be available for sale at the foot of the pier and other locations - follow for more details.

Stick around afterwards to warm up with some savory clam chowder or any scrumptious food options served at our local independent restaurants and cafes. Most shops will be open - be sure to check out our store offerings. Watch football on a big screen at the beach at ! Cayucos is the place to be on New Year’s Day - and frankly, every day 🤷‍♀️🌊!

It’s officially December — and Christmas in Cayucos is fast approaching!
We’re kicking off the season bigger and brighter this year with ONE magical weekend of holiday fun in the heart of our little beach town.

✨ Friday, December 12 — Tree Lighting • 5:00 PM
Gather at the Downtown Tree for the annual lighting, enjoy holiday carols from the White Caps, and watch Santa & Mrs. Claus arrive by fire truck before opening Santa’s House for visits.

✨ Saturday, December 13 — Wonderland Walk • 3:00–6:00 PM
Stroll Ocean Avenue (closed from Cayucos Drive to D Street + Front Street) and enjoy:
• Snow sledding
• Horse-drawn carriage rides
• The Dale Kaiser craft tent
• Santa’s House
• Business Bingo for prizes
• Local shops staying open late with specials and holiday treats
