The Empty Bowls Project at the Marion Arts Festival brings together students, artists, educators, and volunteers to support local food banks—one $5 bowl at a time.

Since 1996, this beloved program has raised over $118,000 to help fight hunger right here in our community. Every bowl represents creativity, compassion, and the belief that art can make a difference.

The Empty Bowls Project is creativity with purpose 🎨🥣

Presented by Veridian Credit Union , students from schools throughout the corridor create ceramic bowls in their art classes, which are donated and sold at the Marion Arts Festival to benefit local food banks.

Local artists also contribute ceramic pieces, along with beautifully handcrafted wood bowls from the Corridor Woodturners of Cedar Rapids. The sale itself is proudly managed by Marion High School Art Club students—making this project truly by the community, for the community.
