TMC Designs Story
My wife, Misty, and I started customizing tumblers and other artwork to help payoff debt caused by medical bills that I have incurred since I was 26 years old. It is a long story but let me give you a little background as to what is going on.
I had cancer when I was 12 years old (Hodgkins Disease), had two strokes, had 2 internal bleeds and numerous trips to ER with stays in the hospital due to Pneumonia or other infections. The doctors were never able to fiqure out the causes for the strokes. Treatment for the cancer in 1984 radiation and chemotherapy. The doctors used radiation at first but that did not work so they switched to kids chemotherapy. I went thru 3 different types of kids chemo till they used adult dose of ABVD. This dosage left me with Congestive Heart disease and Pulmonary Hypertension. So I am now disabled due to the strokes the effects of radiation chemo.
My brother, Patrick, and I both grew up with aches in our joints. The doctors in the late 1970’s said it was Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis. They then prescribed Bufferin Aspirin for both us. Now Patrick, my brother, had numerous strokes and other issues early on where as I did not except the cancer.
Just before my brother passed in 2017, the doctors discovered that he had a rare genetic disorder called DADA2. Patrick passed away due to this disorder. DADA2 is short for Deficiency of Adenosine Deaminase 2. DADA2 is a rare genetic disorder that involves inflammation of the body's tissues, especially the tissues that make up the blood vessels. Inflammation is the body's natural response to injury or infection, but continuous inflammation, such as that caused by DADA2, can damage vital organs and systems. Damage to these areas can result in disability or even death.
