You know it’s going to be a good day when Abby says she’s making a cake. As always, it’s all scratch-made. She refuses to use any boxed mixes.

It was not up to her high standards in design as she only used a sandwich baggie because her decorator has gone MIA.

Her family thinks it’s beautiful and it tastes even better. It’s a double layer vanilla cake with vanilla custard and strawberries in the center. She wanted a whipped topping to keep it “light.” It’s soooo good.

Hard to believe, but Abby is 14 now — and her growth since Boro Bakers first started over 5 years ago has been incredible.

She whipped up scratch-made caramel apple cookies, brown butter dark chocolate chip cookies, and pecan bars for Thanksgiving, and Noah jumped in with a batch of homemade brownies.

With XC season wrapped up and the holidays around the corner, she’s been toying with the idea of offering some baked goods for sale again — it’s been a while!

And if you thought their treats were good before… what Abby is creating now is truly next level. 🍪✨

You know it’s going to be a great day when Abby says, “I’m making cupcakes today.”

These taste as good as they look. Scratch-made strawberry filled chocolate cupcakes with cream cheese icing and pumpkin cupcakes with cream cheese icing.

At 14, she’s become such an amazing baker. Start them young — she was 9 when she and Noah started Boro Bakers. They focused mostly on energy balls, cookies, and hot cocoa bombs. But she has expanded her skills far beyond those simpler items.

Time really does fly. The 11-yr-old boy who began Boro Bakers with his 9-yr-old sister just turned 16-yrs-old.

Both Abby and Noah are involved with cross country and track, which keeps them fairly busy along with high school.

They’re not in the kitchen as much these days, but Abby still loves baking for family. Her gift to Noah was a scratch-made cookies ‘n cream ice cream cake.

This was her first attempt at making one so she wants to polish the appearance but the taste…oh my. She did an absolutely fantastic job and we can’t wait to taste what she decideds to bake next.

It’s been awhile…

Abby and Noah were 9 and 11 years old when they began Boro Bakers. They were quite successful for two years or so and enjoyed making all the things.

Abby is now almost 14 and still makes amazing scratch made, clean cakes, icings and cookies for friends and family. She will be a freshman next school year and is actively involved with XC, track, and playing cello.

Noah turns 16 soon and will be getting his license. He also is on the XC and track teams and has been for years, although he’s sustained some intense insures the last two years during track season that require him to focus on recovery.

He is working on completing his Eagle Scout project, working at a local pizza and pasta restaurant, and preparing to enter his junior year of high school.

Their time as the Boro Bakers provided them with life lessons and experiences that are shaping them into amazing young people. Thank you for your support during that time!
