Busy weaving weekend!

First 2 students from The University of Iowa College of Business. Wapsi Weaving was their client for a business consulting class. We were happy they could visit us in person and try weaving.

Second Andrea and Laura brought Grandma in to weave. Grandma has a loom so Andrea and Laura are helping get it warped (in South Dakota). Grandma Laura came to weave to see if she liked it enough to get her loom warped - and I am thrilled she left wanting to weave more at home!

Fun results all around.

Employee Spotlight:

Ellie Rundall

Ellie started weaving because we asked her if she’d like to join the weaving team. 😀 She joined us in November.

Her favorite thing to weave is rugs with wool or alpaca.

She will graduate from Central City in May and plans to attend UW Platteville.

Ellie likes to show sheep. Her favorite TV show is Young Sheldon. She is on the local fire department and she works at Parlor on Main. If you are around Central City, you have probably seen Ellie! Bonus for this crazy weather season for us - she is a National Weather Service trained spotter.

We had the dream team of Jordan and Heidi Huber today - Jordan to shear the sheep and Heidi to trim their feet. All went smoothly and we have some messy but lovely fleeces to clean up for yarn. Thank you to the Hubers!!

If there was a prize for greatest distance traveled, these ladies would win it. Gwen’s mom and her friend came from FRANCE. Such an enjoyable afternoon, and they assured me they could fit the rugs in their bags to get home. Thank you for making Wapsi Weaving a stop on your trip!!
