Everyone kept asking where I got the crown for my rust flamingo… so here’s the reveal 😂👑♻️

Built our sanctuary from old discarded windows with no plans but lots of dreams.✨

It’s become our favorite place in the garden. 🌿

We use old doors all over our garden… so naturally we had to stop and debate this one at Restore 😂
His guess vs. mine was WAY off. Wait for the price reveal 👀

I gave this plastic flamingo a faux rust makeover and now it looks like a forgotten vintage garden sculpture 🦩✨ The texture, the patina, the transformation… love how it turned out. 🧡

Rusty crown pots coating recipe 👑
Messy, earthy, and impossible to get wrong.
You can’t mess it up! It’s like finger painting in the garden 🌿

I couldn’t find the faux rust Dani Tinker used… so I tried making my own with everyday items 👑🤎

We weren’t planning to stop, but as we made our way home from North Carolina, I felt it, a quiet pull leading us to a place I didn’t know I was meant to find.

First, I noticed an old truck parked outside and a simple sign that read Antique Mall… The Whole Kit N' Caboodle on Rt. 66

Tired from the road and unsure what we’d find, my husband and I stepped inside.

The shop was beautiful. Every corner held treasures, each with their own quiet stories. We wandered slowly, searching for the ones we were meant to find.

The door opened, and a woman walked in with her dog. At first, I thought she was just another customer. And yet, the moment she stepped inside, joy seemed to follow her.

It wasn’t until later that I learned her name was Brenda, and that she owned the shop.

Kindness seemed to radiate from her the way heat comes from a fireplace when you’re out in the cold too long.

We spent time visiting, shopping, sharing stories, and laughing like we’d known her longer than we had.

When we finally pulled away, the car was fuller, but so were our hearts. And I was reminded that sometimes the best parts of the journey are the ones you didn’t set out to find. 💚

Got to go visit one of my favorite places 💚 Watson’s Nursery and Landscape in Reedley, California. It’s like stepping back in time. 🌿

In life, as in the garden, everything has a season. There are seasons of blooming, seasons of rest, and seasons where growth quietly happens beneath the surface.

My son recently moved to the other side of the country, and it feels like a beloved companion plant moved to a new garden bed. At first, the garden seems different. You notice the empty space beside you. You adjust to the change in light and rhythm.

But then you start to see that plant thriving in its new place.

You watch it stretch toward the sun, putting down stronger roots, blooming in ways you always hoped it would. And while a part of you misses its nearness, another part feels so much joy watching it flourish.

Maybe this is the season I’m in now.

Love, I think, sometimes looks like tending from a distance. Trusting that growth can happen in separate gardens while still being deeply connected at the roots.

And maybe, as the garden always reminds me, we all bloom again in the season meant for us. 🌷
