Isle of Skye | Lake Muskoka, Canada. Originally built in 1895 in the Victorian style, Isle of Skye is one of Lake Muskoka’s early summer residences, reflecting the character and architecture of the region’s formative cottage era. We are honored to be working on a new boathouse that respects the character, history, and timeless beauty of this remarkable property while creating something that will endure for generations to come. Pictured on the docks of Isle of Skye are our Principal, Bill Childs, and Landscape Architect Virginia Burt, collaborating on the design and vision for this special place. A wonderful example of how thoughtful architecture and landscape design can come together to preserve the spirit of a historic Muskoka property while creating a meaningful new chapter in its story.

A Cleveland native and previous WCA summer intern, Anselma has since earned her degree from the University of Notre Dame, where she studied the principles of classical design. With two years of professional experience in traditional architectural design, she is excited to return to WCA and continue contributing her strong design sensibility and attention to detail. We are excited to share construction progress on this WCA-designed postmodern home. Designed as a companion home to the Owner’s existing primary residence, the details pay homage to and reflect the postmodern primary.

In this WCA-designed addition, our interior design team thoughtfully curated a custom display for this striking statue in the vestibule of the private gym. Inside the gym, the Owner’s Michigan State pride is further celebrated with a custom wall design by the interior design team and matching green motorized drapes.
