His name was BiG Daddy a Belgian of the most gentle nature. He gave everything that was ever asked of him, right until he had nothing left, In the end, he was sold simply for what weight remained on his tired and sore body.
Big Daddy went down, he was tired and wanted rest. But with that comes not being able to get back up due to arthritis. We called out for heavy equipment to get him back up, we were able to lift him back onto his feet, but heartbreakingly, it wasn’t enough. His body had no fight left.amd he couldn’t stay up.
We made the difficult but compassionate decision to have him peacefully euthanised, ensuring he felt no more pain and was surrounded by care in his final moments.
No matter how hard we fight for their healing, sometimes they feel safe enough to finally let go. In those moments, all we can do is be there to offer comfort, to ensure they are not alone, and to give them the gentle passing they deserve, rather than the suffering they might otherwise face. He was saved from an inhumane death on the slaughter truck.
Now, we are asking for your help.
We want to give BiG Daddy the dignity he deserves a respectful, forever resting place. These final acts of care come with costs we cannot meet alone.
