WOW! I can’t believe the last time I posted on Collin’s Corner was April 21st!
Well, a lot has happened since then.
If you follow my personal page, you would know that we were taking care of my aunt, my mother’s sister, for many years. Last year, she showed signs of declining and at the end of January, she ended up in a hospital, was transferred to another hospital, then, for the last eight days of her life was in a nursing home on hospice. We buried her last Thursday. Even though she had three biological children, they had no contact with her for decades, so it was me and Tim who acted as her surrogate children. We will be tying up the loose ends, that always come with the death of a loved one, in the next couple weeks.
If you follow Angels for Alicia Hruby, then you know what’s been happening with her. We have had to close the shop often because she can go from having a decent day to being on the brink of going to the ICU. Caring for a child with a terminal illness, who has been chronically ill for the last 14 years, is not for the faint of heart.
Due to all of this happening, we are far behind in creating merchandise to sell in the shop. We will be open, sporadically, during the week this week to catch up. At the beginning of June, we will establish new longer business hours and will be open some late nights. If the OPEN light is on and the door is unlocked, we’re open for business. If all goes according to plan, we will have a whole new look in the shop by September when we will be celebrating four years in business.
Thank you for being patient with us while we manage all these roadblocks in life.
We love all of you and we know you will be coming back to our little shop that will have big things happening in the very near future.
We miss you!!!
