I can not shout loud enough what a fabulous group of young men we have to represent our school and community! Thank you Coach Adams, Coach Kuykendall and gentlemen! Jamarcus williams and Michael Minner, great going getting Coach Adams on our team! Their spirit of cooperation & teamwork along with their patience and willingness to pitch in to get the job done was truly remarkable and refreshing! Go Big Blue!

A hunter heard movement in the woods and expected a deer. He found a black bear sitting in a lawn chair like it was on vacation.

He told people what he saw. Nobody believed him. Then trail cameras in the area proved something even stranger. The same bear had been filmed carrying the chair through the woods.

Not dragging it. Carrying it. Through the forest. To a spot where it could sit down.

The hunter stumbled onto the scene after hearing rustling nearby. He crept toward the sound, expecting wildlife doing wildlife things. Instead, he found a bear leaned back in a lawn chair with the energy of someone who had just finished mowing a lawn they didn't own.

When he shared the story, the reactions were exactly what you'd expect. Nobody bought it. A bear in a chair sounded like a campfire story told after too many drinks.

Then someone checked the trail cameras.

The footage showed the bear picking up the chair from what appeared to be a nearby campsite or property, carrying it into the woods, setting it down, and using it. Not destroying it. Not chewing it apart. Sitting in it.

Wildlife researchers acknowledged that bears are remarkably intelligent animals capable of learning, problem-solving, and interacting with human objects. Bears have been observed climbing into hammocks and investigating furniture before.

But deliberately transporting a chair to a different location and then using it for its intended purpose is something else entirely.

If this bear watched humans sit in lawn chairs, understood the concept, stole one, and carried it into the woods to relax, researchers say it would suggest an unusually intelligent individual even by bear standards.

Somewhere in those woods, a bear is sitting in a stolen lawn chair, completely unbothered by the fact that it just changed how researchers think about animal cognition.
