The adoptions open Monday! First come first serve!
Meet Professor Stitchwell — the BERNINA L 450
Professor Stitchwell is the wise, experienced resident who has seen it all.
He's the machine equivalent of the beloved teacher everyone hopes to get. Patient with beginners, respected by experts, and somehow able to make complicated things feel surprisingly simple. While some machines enjoy showing off flashy features, Professor Stitchwell quietly delivers professional results and lets the work speak for itself.
He firmly believes that good technique matters, quality lasts, and that most sewing problems can be improved with proper seam finishes. Professor Stitchwell has spent the last year patiently serving on the showroom floor, helping demonstrate the magic of a properly finished seam. He may not be the loudest resident at the Golden Anchor Machine Rescue, but ask anyone who knows him, and they'll tell you the same thing: Some companions make sewing more fun. Professor Stitchwell makes sewing better.

Favorite activities:
• Teaching sewists that sergers aren't scary
• Creating beautifully finished seams that look professional inside and out

The adoption event starts June 8, who is your perfect match?

The adoption event starts Monday June 8! Which machine is your perfect match?
Meet “Piper” — the bernette 37
Piper is practical, cheerful, and capable.
She’s the friend who always volunteers to help, remembers where the scissors are, and somehow makes complicated things feel manageable. Piper doesn’t need to be the fanciest machine in the room to get attention—because once people actually sew with her, they get it.
She’s especially beloved by beginners, returning sewists, and creative people who want modern features without needing a 300-page instruction manual and an emotional support hotline. Piper really wants a forever sewing room, a growing fabric stash, and someone willing to take a chance on all those creative ideas they’ve been talking themselves out of.
Favorite activities:
• Helping people fall back in love with sewing
• Quietly making beautiful quilts while nobody expects it
• Conquering corners without drama
• Being the machine people recommend to their friends
Special talents:
• 50 built-in stitches including utility, decorative, stretch, quilting, and buttonhole stitches
• Start/Stop button that lets you sew without the foot pedal when you’re working on long seams
• Adjustable speed control
• Needle up/down function that makes pivoting corners feel satisfying
• Bright LCD display
• 7 mm stitch width for decorative stitches
• Two-step presser foot lift that handles thicker fabrics and quilts
• Bright LED lighting
• Strong computerized precision

Meet Scout! Come play on our new account!

Here is the rescue machine bio for today!

Meet “Scout” — the bernette 05 ACADEMY
Scout is the adventurous one.
She’s sturdy, dependable, and always ready to try something new. While some machines prefer a quiet life hemming curtains and occasionally fixing a pillowcase, Scout wants to go places. Quilt retreats? Absolutely. Sewing classes? Count her in. Learning an entirely new skill at 10 PM because inspiration struck? Scout already packed her bag.
Built with a rugged personality and a surprising amount of power, Scout loves helping beginners gain confidence—but she’s equally happy with experienced makers who just want a machine that shows up, works hard, and doesn’t need constant emotional support.
Favorite activities:
• Quilt retreats and sewing classes
• Heavy-duty projects that make smaller machines nervous
• Helping beginners discover they’re actually pretty talented
• Being the reliable machine people keep for years and years
Special talents:
• Extra-fast sewing speeds up to 1,100 stitches per minute because Scout has places to be
• Powerful DC motor that handles thicker materials with confidence
• 30 essential stitches including stretch and decorative options for creative flexibility
• Bright LED lighting that makes late-night sewing adventures much safer
• Includes a speed limiter because sometimes enthusiasm exceeds skill level
• Large extension table for quilts, bags, costumes, and projects that escalated unexpectedly
• Finger guard included, making her especially protective of newer sewists and younger creators
• Designed to be durable, practical, and ready for years of creative adventures
Scout has spent the last year serving faithfully on the showroom floor, greeting customers and patiently waiting for someone to notice that she’s far more than just a pretty machine. Deep down, she dreams of a sewing room filled with fabric piles, ambitious project plans, and someone who occasionally says, “I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing, but let’s try it anyway.”
