Clover’s Cottage recently brought home a few bundles of antique to***co sticks, each one holding decades of history from an Ashe County, North Carolina barn. After a good scrub and a little elbow grease, these rustic beauties are ready for a new chapter. What once supported golden leaves in the barn will soon become the bones of handcrafted furniture.

Stay tuned to see how Clover’s Cottage transforms these weathered sticks into something truly special for an auction to raise funds to help a local non-profit in the town of Lansing, NC restore an amazing two-story historic stone school building.

is back in the woodworking shop after a winters break. We are restoring this wicker table. The top had to be replaced with new wood. The bottom wicker and legs will receive a little TLC before being repainted. The table has two matching wicker chairs that have already been restored.

We have furniture, including a favorite of Clover's: an American Antique black painted rocking chair. It is well worn.

The chair features a headrest stencil of a fruit bowl, flowers, and leaves, and we believe the saddle seat is made of red oak due to its large swirl pattern. The arms are cherry with a delicate scroll handle.

Clover’s daddies purchased the chair at an estate sale in North Carolina, and it may be a southern-made hybrid of the “Boston style”, rocking chair of similar design.
The piece is well-constructed and sturdy, making it both a great rocker and a beautiful piece for any room.

We date it to the late 1800s due to its heavy patina, wear, and signs of usage. The price is $675, shipping or local pickup can be arranged

Clover's grandparents obtained this item during a visit.

Clover enjoys "Nickel Slot's" as well.

The property was demolished in 2021.

With New Year's just around the corner…. And given the cold weather today, with temperatures at 19 degrees and a cold wind 💨,

Clover's Cottage is offering a selection of three unusual drink mixers.

Two are for Cocktails 🍹 or Martinis 🍸 , the third is for our younger or young-at-heart, lovers of Ovaltine chocolate milk.

Clover prefers her martinis 'shaken, not stirred'. 👍

The first mixer has a bright red top and is from the 1950s. It is made of aluminum, 8 inches high, perfect for two well-sized drinks. It is rare to find one in this condition, $25 plus shipping.

The second is a pewter “Cobbler” or Art Deco-style shaker with a handle and screw spout with a built-in strainer, possibly made in Italy. It has a larger capacity, stamped 'Genuine Pewter' on the bottom, 9 inches high, priced at $35 plus shipping.

Finally, there is a 1940s small tin Ovaltine Chocolate Milk Shaker, simpler in style, measuring 6 inches high with the Ovaltine top, priced at $22 plus shipping.

Clover's Cottage is located on a long road that features numerous Christmas tree farms as well as abandoned barns and homes, and a small cemetery for a gentleman who fought for the Confederacy and his wife.
