Just a reminder that we take special orders all season long. I only rarely have to decline due to other commitments. We can help you celebrate just about anything or make something just because. These stems were cut tonight and will head out the door tomorrow morning. Keep us in mind for your special moments!

What’s happening on the farm this week?

Well. For starters - everything survived the storms from today! Such a win! We got some much needed steady rain today. So thankful for that!

We are getting a lot of requests for special occasion arrangements. We love orders like this and can usually accommodate them. Just ask!

Our zinnias are blooming! We had a late start with planting because the beginning of May was just simply weird. At one point I felt really behind, but seeing things color up makes me hopeful that summer subscriptions will start on time around the second week of July. Also - I found a dahlia bloom starting today!

We’re still planting successions and still seed starting!

We just finished up a gender reveal - had to make both boy and girl - so I have some extras. I’m going to make some small sized arrangements and will list photos soon.

The before and after of a SOLD OUT market day! Thank you for showing up for us today! It was a beautiful afternoon and we can’t wait to do it all over again in July!

I think this was the most product we’ve ever taken to one of the markets and it was a joy to see all the flowers find new homes. Don’t forget to change the water 😉

I woke up at 6 am today to enjoy my coffee on the porch with the dog, but I checked the weather first and was shocked to see “flood warning.” Um, what? So I downed the coffee and headed out to cut our spring bloomers for the Westside Market - Springfield 🫶🏼 This will likely be the only time you see these flowers this season at the market from us because they prefer to bloom in cooler temps. I cannot wait to assemble bouquets because these + PEONIES are going to be SPECTACULAR!

Paislee has been working on new crochet items. Anyone around here love the porch goose trend?! Wait til you see what she has up her sleeve!

We truly hope to see you at the market! Even if you’re not there for flowers please stop by and say Hi! The market offers live music, a quick and adorable photo both, locally grown flowers, locally grown produce, locally raised meat, and tons from all sorts of different makers. Please come out and show your support 🫶🏼

The market is 2-5 pm in the Papo’s parking lot but we are often selling flowers by 1 pm. We will be located against the tree line all season long!

What’s happening on the farm this week?

The last of our new flowering shrub perennials have gone in the ground, the new hot wire fence is up on plot #2, dahlias have been pinched (promotes branching), another 150 dahlias went in the ground, and we will start harvesting later this week for the Westside Market - Springfield. Our beautiful feverfew, bupleurum, and orlaya are blooming, but will hold in the cooler just fine until market. We should also have fresh bundles of our lavender at the market - never sprayed with anything. So if you love to make or create with fresh lavender - find us early at the market! The market is 2-5 pm. We will be arriving by noon and are often selling flowers before 1 pm as people start browsing. Consider this your warning 😆

We also started planting our pumpkins. Back in 2023 we had a gorgeous pumpkin crop, but the last two years have quite honestly been trash. We had such little rain (pumpkins love water) the last couple years over summer and watering by hand in the back of our property has proven to be too much for us. The pumpkins always kind of take a back seat to our flowers and only the strong will survive 😆

I hope you enjoy reading these updates - both the victories and the losses. I hope by sharing these details and realities that it connects you more to what we’re doing and helps you realize how special locally grown flowers really are. What we are creating is *a lot* of work and most days we are chasing daylight. Chet and I both work 36-40 hours elsewhere each week. We are constantly learning by trial and error, but each year we hope to improve and to continue to bring you unique things you can’t pick up anywhere else 🫶🏼
