A league so of their own inspired event

Two years ago this week—just seven days after my final breast-cancer-related surgery, an emergency surgery due to infection and my body rejecting internal sutures and a full re-reconstruction—I loaded this wedding into the van. That might sound crazy, but flowers are cathartic. They heal everything.
Including me, I was still healing. I had drains. And for perhaps one of the few times in my career, even I knew this could not be a solo installation. My wholesaler / helped arrange for the wonderful Misty from to work beside me, and together we brought this moody, romantic vision to life: moss-covered tables, layers of candlelight, trailing greenery, and flowers in deep shades of wine, berry and plum.
Looking back, I don’t only see the flowers. I see my body trying to heal, hands that still needed to create beauty and play with flowers, and another florist stepping in exactly where I needed her. ( I still have your flannel)
There is strength in continuing—but there is also strength in accepting help.
Two years later, I’m healthy, still creating, and deeply grateful for how far I’ve come. Do what you love and it's not work, it's rewarding.

Every unforgettable bouquet begins long before the flowers.
One of the biggest challenges with this wedding was creating a bouquet that would rest elegantly over the bride's arm. Thank goodness she was strong because that bouquet was HEAVY!
There are specialty products made specifically for this style—but they can be incredibly expensive. We are talking hundreds of dollars just for the hardware.
Instead, I challenged myself to engineer my own mechanics. I used a garden hose holder that usually gets put in your yard to hold a wrapped up hose. I painted it gold, flipped it upside down and ziptied foam to it.
Sometimes floral design isn't just about flowers...It's problem-solving.
and imagination.
Seeing the finished bouquet come to life made every bit of experimentation worth it.
Sometimes the best designs begin with asking...
"What if I tried this instead?"

Old Hollywood glamour... hidden in the Tennessee woods. When two performers from Los Angeles asked me to design the florals for their wedding, they weren't looking for a traditional woodland wedding. They envisioned something moody and cinematic. The bride, a former Las Vegas showgirl, wanted elegance with a touch of drama—white anthurium, burgundy and green orchids with the deepest darkest calla's, mounds of moss and sculptural textures, with a very heavy bouquet designed to drape gracefully over her arm like something from a classic Hollywood film.
Every floral element was created to complement their story while embracing the beauty of the forest around them.
This wedding was one of my favorites ever! I loved every minute of bringing their vision to life. They are beautiful people inside and out and were a delight to work with.

Now that wedding season has slowed down a bit, I'm finally getting a chance to look back through all of the beautiful celebrations from this spring. One of my favorite weddings this spring took us to Pigeon Forge. Instead of driving back and forth, we rented a cabin tucked away in the woods and turned the weekend into a little retreat.
There's something special about slowing down after a long setup, waking up surrounded by the mountains.
This design blended lush garden florals with modern architecture—soft whites, blush accents, layered textures, and plenty of movement to complement the incredible windows at the venue.

Happy Monday 😊

Coming off a full weekend — two weddings on Saturday, a Kentucky Derby party that night, and a Sunday brunch to celebrate the calm before a very busy season.

We ended up at Iris and had one of those meals that just hits perfectly. Tableside Bloody Marys, good food, and a moment to actually sit and enjoy it all.

Back to the studio this week, but feeling grateful for a little reset before the next stretch of weddings begins.
