Here, she made a speed swatch — a great way to swatch for a project that’s in the round without knitting a whole hat to get correct gauge for a sweater! I’m heartbroken. Dolly Parton is the patron saint of Tennessee. No politician will ever do as much for our state as Dolly did. She loved us all for exactly who we really are. She donated her time and money to so many causes: vaccine development that saved untold millions of lives, survivors of the Pigeon Forge wildfires, children’s’ literacy, indigent healthcare, you name it. She helped develop one of the poorest places on earth into a worldwide vacation wonderland and employed local people at good wages. She was a brilliant businesswoman. She was an unparalleled singer and songwriter. She was a marvelous actress. She was a role model for how to be successful and still be kind. She was everything good.

Our loss here in Tennessee is incalculable. But we shared her with the world, and I know that literally every person on earth who has a heart has a broken one today. Rest in peace and power, Dolly. Go join your ancestors.

Hey, we haven’t talked about Big Balls in a while! This Sirdar Jewelspun Ombre is almost 1000 yards of aran weight yarn! You can knit a BIG baby blanket, a throw, a sweater, or enough hats for the whole family out of ONE BALL. Imagine what you can make with three or four! It’s pretty gradient color changing pattern and feels great. I made a sweater in my size (I’m pretty medium sized) and a child’s sweater out of one ball and had enough left over for two matching hats! These Big Balls are CRAZY y’all. (Also: washable!!)

We love a local product, and this one isn’t from Chattanooga, but Asheville is definitely within our circle of love!
