These lambs are growing so fast! Very excited to have two new ewes from this batch to add to our breeding stock! We will also be processing 1-2 lambs this winter and are very excited to see how they turn out! There is a possibility that we may sell one of them so if you are interested in lamb meat please let us know! We plan to offer lambs for processing every year in the future so we will be putting together a wait list for anyone interested in purchasing lambs!

Meet Hercules! We are so excited to have this guy as our breeding ram for our next batch of lambs in the spring! He’s got great growth rate so far and is such a solid guy! Looking forward to seeing what he produces for our growing flock! We’ve got 6 ewes so far that will be producing for us this next year so we are hoping for a good lamb crop to grow our flock as well as fill the freezer!

We are excited to be offering this BEAUTIFUL Katahdin twin ram lamb for your next breeding season! He was born February 10th and was up within minutes getting colostrum from mom and following her around. He has a beautiful brown/grey coat and is so sweet! Would make an excellent ram for breeding purposes as his mom and he are both twins and would pass those genetics on to his offspring! He will be fully weaned as well as CDT vaccinated by May 1st. It was a gloomy day today but that didn’t keep us from getting some things done around here!

We were able to get one of our sheep pastures mowed down so we can now throw down some seed for added nutrition to our rotational grazing, placed two new sheep shelters in our back pasture for the newest addition to our rotational grazing paddocks, finished up building some flower beds and planted 750 poppy seeds in them, and we are now enjoying some much needed family time!

Our first round of chicks are in the incubator! So excited to be offering day old chicks this year! If you’d like to be put on our wait list, please send us a message with how many chicks you are wanting! First come first served. We will be hatching out chicks for as long as it takes to get through our waitlist so the sooner you let us know, the sooner you will get your chicks! There will be a three week wait between hatches minimum.

Today has been a busy day on the farm! We are under three weeks from baby #2’s due date so this week is full of prepping as much as we can out here!

Today’s accomplishments:
1. Picking out apple trees, onions, and seedlings for the garden.
2. Buying seed to spread in our sheep pastures
3. Some organizational work in the shop and barn now that concrete work is completed and we are able to love things back in
4. Building a couple small raised flower beds in the garden for flowers
5. Picking up more sheep shelters for the pasture

It’s been busy for sure, and it’s only day 1 of 7! Stay tuned for what else we get done while in nesting mode!

We made it through our first lambing season in just 9 days! Celebrating that we have 5 healthy lambs now prancing around the pasture with their mamas! It is so easy to see God’s beautiful creation through such innocent creatures and it has brought a much deeper understanding of why God continually compares us to these animals in the Bible! Observing their behavior and tendencies has brought me closer to God in such a beautiful way! As I care for these animals even when they do the opposite of what I’m trying to get them to do it’s a constant reminder of God’s care for me and how gently he leads his sheep even when they stray. Life is beautiful!

Our final lambing happened yesterday afternoon! We welcomed another set of twins! Their mom is a first timer so she was pretty confused at first but took to these two very quickly once we put them in a jug by themselves. One ram and one ewe both weighing right around 5lbs at birth!
