Soupy and I have news: one of us is going to Rhinebeck!

Sorry, it’s not the cat. But I will be bringing many tiny cats for you to knit!

You’ll be able to find me in the Merritt Bookstore + Toystore area, where I’ll be signing books and just hanging out and taking it all in.

The last time I was at this legendary sheep & wool festival was way back in 2012, so I bet a few things have changed in the meantime. If you’ll be there too, please stop by and say hi!

By special birthday request, I just finished making my daughter this crazy octopus hoodie 🐙

I didn’t make the hoodie, but I made the 24 tiny octopuses that are now stitched to it. This project took over the last two weeks of summer break for me (and it was about all I could work on since my kids was basically free range those weeks)— a fun way to end summer.

Much to my relief, Eve was delighted with how her octopus hoodie turned out, and she even wore it on her first day of school. A mom who’s a knitter couldn’t ask for more 🥰

The pattern is a slight modification of a design that can be found in…get this…my upcoming book! (It’s easy to find for preorder if you look for it!)

This is my birthday week, complete with bad heat, bad air, and bad produce to worry about. 😕 But it’s also a week full of reminders of all the good people and things in my life 🥰

Turning another year older means another year to get back on that magical unicorn and stay on for the ride as long as possible!
