And I’m home ❤️ actually I’ve been here almost a week. Other than walking miles every day and using the tram, subway, train and bus, oggling all the amazing architecture and eating all the delicious food I’ve been picking! 4 flea markets down, one more to go today. So many amazing treasures, trying to stick with what I can conceivably pack on a suitcase (or two). Also tourist type things to do this upcoming week. This truly is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. 🇦🇹

Another day, another brocante trip. The first market was overrun by tourists (Hi USA dealer, I see you and your Hulken- best bags ever, mine is with me too). Just like my formerly favorite Paris flea market, prices were inflated on a lot of items, merci, desole being my favorite go to phrase. The second one was NOT worth the drive other than being on the way home and the location had me more excited than the nothing I found to buy. Gorgeous old building adjacent to, unfortunately I was too hot and too tired to investigate other than some quick photos. Back to L’Isle, a brief respite in the air conditioning and one last walk through the antique market. Glad I went, I broke my rule of NOT buying more linens because they are absolutely gorgeous and I would have agonized endlessly about NOT buying them. The dealer at L’isle who specializes in linens is my hero, every piece is pristine and measurements are on the tags so you know what you’re buying. And as I get asked a LOT how I get things home - as well packed as possible and stress and anxiety until I get home with it. I have paid a ridiculous amount of money on excess baggage fees already prepping for my flight tomorrow. Hoping the items my friend is bringing with for me to sell 🎙𝐇𝐈𝐆𝐇 𝐑𝐎𝐂𝐊-𝐀-𝐁𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐘 𝒐𝒇𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍 do sell so I can shove some “excess” return baggage in that bag. Excited to get home and share the treasures with you. Pictures are of purchased items as well as items from the brocantes - creepy dolls anyone?

I’m back in Provence! ❤️ It’s the L’isle sur la Sorgue antique fair. Spent Friday morning at the fair, Saturday I took a long drive to attend a different brocante in another town which was magical. So many wonderful treasures. I can’t wait to share them with you Randolph Street Market in September, Vin Des Mart and Nanni's Antiques when I get back. Also… WHATNOT! Say what?! Yes, I will start selling there as well. Stay tuned. Heading out to a different brocante (or two) this morning, then back to L’isle for the Sunday market. Tomorrow it’s off to Vienna and more flea market hunting.

Hi, it’s me. In my happy place out hunting treasure. I was not at Randolph this past weekend, the fear of unbearable heat kept from committing to setting up outside. I will be back in September. Other than hunting treasure near and wide I’ve been working on organizing my studio to host private shopping events and get ready for What Not because yes, I’m not busy enough. Until then I’ll try to be better about sharing my finds like these incredible old wood saw horses and this incredible rust and crusty blue cabinet. I have plans for it just no space in any booth for it yet so come shop Vin Des Mart Nanni's Antiques and Chesterton, IN. Making my trek to Indiana this Sunday and I’ll be working at Vintage Design Mart Saturday 11-7, come say hi! Also dm me for a private shopping appointment.

Emptied my garage of all the vintage patio furniture I’ve been collecting over the last year. Ready to be picked up and enjoyed for barbecues, porch sitting or lazy reading afternoons. I didn’t repaint them - you can do so with your vision. Amazing true vintage metal chairs from the 1930’s to MCM. Come visit Nanni's Antiques just iff the highway in beautiful Michigan City. Make a day of it with an out stop at the 1933’s World’s Fair houses.

People always ask.. WHERE do you find this stuff?! I travel a LOT. I met the lovely Jodi from Jodi’s Just Out Junkin at Pec Thing. She told me she was working on a retired antique dealer estate sale. I stalked her page for updates, took a day off work, booked a hotel near Rockford and went. Little did I know it would be in the midst of the crazy storms we had this last week. The drive out was white knuckle and for safety I pulled over for a good 30 minutes rather than crash on the highway. The first day I was at the designated sign in location at 4 AM for the 7 AM sign up and 8 AM sale. Yes I was #1 on the list and yes it was worth it. Day 2 was 50% off and again, I was at the sign up location at 5 am and #1 in line. The van is FULL of all sorts of treasures. What goes into my prices I charge? The cost of gas, the hours I spend driving, waiting to get into a sale, searching at a sale and then hauling and CLEANING everything. You’re also paying for the knowledge I’ve acquired over 40+ years of picking (and YES there are still things that are NEW to me after all this time) to sort the gold from the trash, spot the hidden treasure and quite honestly my gut feeling that something is truly special. And can we talk about the PRICES we dealers pay? Gone are the days of $1-$5 items. I actually had another estate sale company tell me “it’s $85 online so we charge $60”. The prices I pay have skyrocketed with the sheer volume of pickers, selling platforms and google lens. I will always pride myself on google lens being my option of last resort if I have something I absolutely positively cannot identify from knowledge and experience. And last but not least, scarcity of the truly unusual and OLD things. It’s getting harder to find the good stuff. That’s why a sale like THIS was worth all the hours I spent. Next up (once the damn rain stops), unpacking, cleaning and sorting. Photos to come. Also… open house 6/27 at the studio, invite only, message me if you’re interested.

Ran away for a quick trip down to Indianapolis for the Woodruff Place flea market. What an amazingly beautiful area! Absolutely fell in love with a house (with carriage house) that was for sale but as of yet haven’t been able to find the listing (probably out of my budget but a woman can dream). Found some amazing treasures (two big pieces are still in my car since they’re too big to move solo). Tons of little treasures that will pop up and .design.mart after this weekend. Highly recommend putting the flea on your calendar for 2027 - 1st weekend in June (go early). Also stayed at the Stone Soup Inn - gorgeous arts & crafts bnb, highly recommend that as well.

Two days, 24+ hours of picking at 2 flea markets, an antique mall and 3 estate sales. Potentially one of my best picking trips ever. You get to see it (and buy it) next WEEKEND first. The table I am head over heels in love with, I’ve never seen one like it. The painting might end up a keeper if someone isn’t lucky enough to grab it next weekend. For you vinyl junkies, the best record stand ever. For my book lovers you might have to pry this one out of my hands. Not pictured, linens, more art work, flow blue, the cutest damn full aprons and 1/2 aprons I’ve found in YEARS. Lots of cleaning and unpacking (the ln repacking) but I promise the anticipation is worth it, it’s going to be a WOW of a show.
