Monty Johnson 4/13/20 - 6/10/26
It's with a broken heart that I share my beloved soul dog, Monty, faithful companion and beloved fur-son transitioned unexpectedly last week. He fulfilled his earthly mission and beyond. He was the cutest, handsomest, friendliest, most fiercely protective dog there ever was. He made every day so much better. He came to me in Covid, he was my first baby. I moved homes and changed cars for him. We travelled together to Mexico City, NYC, Vermont and just this spring we celebrated his 6th birthday in the FL Keys and had a two week road trip - just us - all over New England. He loved Cape Cod so much and I promised I'd bring him back.
Monty wasn't just my first baby, it's hard to explain but he opened something in my heart that made it possible for my daughter Paloma to come through to me. He was there throughout my pregnancy, marriage, divorce and solo parenting Paloma from 5 months through now. We were the best little family, just us three. ❤️ Being Monty and Paloma's Mom when they were little was just such a dream, I am so blessed.
Monty was famous in the Gold Coast. Everyone stopped to pet him and he stopped at every single doorman building (and shops on Oak Street) for treats. He LOVED Christmas and especially the decorations at The Drake Hotel. He loved shopping more than anyone. Monty assisted me on many a site visit. I have so many photos, I wish I could share them all here. Many of you loved him and many knew how much I loved him and how much he meant to us.
Monty changed my heart forever. ♾️ I truly wish that anyone who feels called to have a dog does so. Fortunately I have received several signs from the spirit world that he is ok. A friend told me as humans we just have to accept their lives and missions are shorter than ours. That's been my mantra. Thank you for the love you shared with us during his life and also for the outpouring of condolences.
