Crispy Funnel Cake Sticks 🎉🍰
Intro: Treat yourself to a delightful snack that’s crisp, sweet, and oh-so-fun! These crispy funnel cake sticks are perfect for sharing—and you won’t be able to resist their charm!
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions:
1. Begin by preparing your dry ingredients. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Whisk together until evenly mixed.
2. In a separate bowl, crack the eggs and add the milk and vanilla extract. Whisk these wet ingredients together until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
3. Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring continuously. Keep mixing until the batter is smooth and free of lumps, ensuring it's well combined.
4. In a deep skillet or fryer, pour in about 2 inches of vegetable oil and heat it to 375°F (190°C).
5. Once the oil is hot, take your batter and transfer it into a squeeze bottle or piping bag fitted with a large round tip. This will help you create the signature funnel cake shape.
6. Carefully squeeze the batter into the hot oil, forming long, thin strips. Fry only a few at a time to avoid overcrowding.
7. Fry the sticks for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they turn a lovely golden brown and are crispy all around.
8. Once they’re perfectly fried, use a slotted spoon to transfer the funnel cake sticks to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.
9. While still warm, generously dust the sticks with powdered sugar to give them that classic sweet finish.
10. Serve your crispy funnel cake sticks plain or with delightful dips like chocolate sauce, caramel, or fresh fruit!
