12 years ago today I started The Orchard House Women with my mom. I had started making pillows but had no idea what I was doing. So my mom drove downtown with her sewing machine to help me. I had asked someone if I could try selling my pillows at a show with them and they turned me down with a big “NO”. I was heartbroken for awhile. A day later I came up with my new business name and asked my mom to join me. I had no idea what it was that we were going to make or sell but I knew we could figure it out! We began selling antiques , handmade signs, decorations and most importantly spending time together. I’m grateful for that “No” & I’m proud of what we’ve done together Mom.
