✨️ What's one act of courage you'd like to take this summer?

In my 12-week Self-Discovery Journaling class, I've challenged my students to take one intentional act of courage each week and document the experience in their journals.

Not the grand, life-changing kind.

The everyday kind.

Making a phone call.
Setting a boundary.
Signing up for something new.
Going somewhere alone.
Speaking up.
Starting a creative practice.
Taking one small step toward the life you want.

We'll be supporting one another and noticing what happens over the course of 12 weeks.

Yesterday we listened to a TEDx talk by Robert "Dusty" Staub on seven acts of courage and reflected on the idea in our journals. There's a peek at the page I created in this video.

✨ One of my favorite things about teaching is finding out what happens after class ends.

People often come for the creativity… but stay for the connection. To themselves, their stories, and each other.

The sent a follow-up email to participants from my workshop earlier this year. I love the idea that some of those same people might come find me this summer and dive in deeper with me — I can’t wait to hear about their journaling experience over the last 5 months!

It’s so beautiful to watch people return to themselves through creativity, self-discovery, and community. 🩵
