Claro Walnut and Hard Maple.

This was my first attempt at a stand for Scrimshaw work.

The Walnut is extremely wet, so I have it wrapped and drying with some shavings, but for a first go, not too shabby.

Beeswax/mineral oil finish will be applied to the stand after it dries further.
