Welcome!!

We are based in Brownwood, TX and specialize in handmade decor and gifts. We love having the opportunity to create unique decor for our customers!

Texas Sawdust and Paint is owned and operated by myself, Lori Hurt. My husband, Doug, is by my side and helping whenever he can. We are the parents of two amazing young men, one talented daughter-in-love and an absolutely beautiful granddaughter.

I have been creating for most of my life. My grandmother, on my dad’s side, was an artist. She taught me to paint on her screened in back porch. My mother’s side taught me to sew, quilt, crochet, garden and just about anything else involving creating something. So I have done a lot of creative making in my lifetime.

We now have an empty nest. Well, most of the time. I have worked full time most of our married life (35 years). So creating was always a hobby and done only when there was some extra time, which wasn’t very often. In January of 2020, I decided to go full time with my home decor business. I have found my happy place!!! Now I can create AND help the hubby provide for our family.
