Happy Friday!!! We are ending the week by wrapping up projects, project meetings and presentations. Give me all of the coffee in the world! (Or my one allotment since I’m 🀰)This is one of my favorite spots that we added to the kitchen. It is my coffee and wine bar β˜•οΈπŸ·

Swipe for before and progress. This area used to be a small closet and blank area that I suspect housed an old double oven at one point (long gone when we moved in). Originally, I was going to keep the closet but after several layouts of the kitchen, I really wanted some type of beverage area. When we decided to move the pantry out, I decided to address this area as well. We actually took apart the paneling board by board to reuse in other areas of the kitchen. We stairstepped the cabinets to accommodate the casing/opening of the door and to house the wine refrigerator.

One of the best decisions as this part of the kitchen gets used daily!

On our first walkthrough of the house-I immediately fell in love with this little pantry. It had a window! I called it my Martha Stewart moment (she always had beautiful houses with random windows and authentic architecture that you typically do not see in modern homes).

When we were rehabbing the kitchen I decided that the pantry needed to be larger. We moved the interior wall to allow for base cabinetry and countertop-perfect for small appliances and prep with shelving up above.
β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €
When we uncovered the area that was once the exterior wall we discovered the gorgeous stone wall and knew it could not be covered back up. We decided to clean it up and seal it. We added the reclaimed shelves that we made from an old beam that we found at one of my favorite local lumber/reclaim yards (field trip traipsing through a field of barn lumber πŸ€—). The shelving above the cabinetry was from reclaimed wood that we found in our barn. Both had been sanded, cleaned and wire brushed and several coats of sealant.

This little room, small yet mighty, is one of my favorite spaces in the entire house πŸ’• 🏑

One of the things that was crucial in our kitchen renovation was upgraded cooking πŸ§‘β€πŸ³. While the kitchen footprint is larger than most-doorways & windows (10+) prevented having large runs of cabinetry or large appliances. We incorporated a 30” Wolf induction range and standalone hood, while in the island incorporated a GE Advantium oven. This appliance acts as a microwave, oven, toaster oven, and a warming drawer. You can pop a bag of popcorn, bake a sheet of cookies, or toast a piece of bread (or artisan sandwiches πŸ˜‹) or keep your rolls warm.

One of my favorite things about my kitchen is the amount of windows. Our kitchen area has 10 windows/doors in total which makes for some amazing light! I have been known to add windows to many of my projects as everybody loves a view!

We finished our kitchen project just before the pandemic started and we have enjoyed cooking, cleaning, and raising our baby (she took many a bath in this large sink!). It is amazing how changing up a space in the home can make it so much more enjoyable! #

This mornings weather has truly been quite refreshing! πŸŒžπŸ’I took a moment to pause and regroup this morning in my breakfast nook with the windows open 😁, while enjoying my morning latte before the busy day began.
We have a slew of projects we are finishing up this week before I head into baby mode next week! On top of all that the babies room is getting done today (yay!).
Wishing everybody a happy Monday and a good week ahead!

! Swipe for Before! This was one of our favorite transformative kitchen projects. We really had to think inside the box (building envelop that is) as we were not able to expand or add an addition. I designed this kitchen to have a whole wall of windows, still allow for seating, and have all of the cooking and desired storage.

If anybody knows me-they may know that I am obsessed with wallpaper. I will put it on everything-from whole rooms to alcoves and nooks to cabinetry.
This was a project for a teen glam en-suite that had all of us daydreaming 🀩 The parents may have a hard time getting their daughter to move out of this room.
