Why Document Your Quilts? 🧵
📖Every quilt tells a story — the occasion, the inspiration, the maker, sometimes the recipient. These stories matter, both historically and to the people who love them.
✨Documenting your quilt's journey preserves its history for future generations. It also helps you track where your quilts end up, understand their journey, and keep your quilting legacy alive.
✨A quilt's provenance makes it more interesting — and adds sentimental, historical, and even monetary value.
✨Here's the thing: we quilters are great at making quilts and not so great at documenting them. After hours of designing, piecing, and quilting, we run out of steam right before the finish line — and the label never gets made.
📓But preserving your quilt's history doesn't have to be a big task. A simple label with information marked with a permanent marker, sewn to the back, is often all it takes to send your quilt into the world with its story attached.
🏷️Don't let your quilt's story end with the binding. Label it. 🏷️
