Our very first event on the flower farm! ❤️🌸
And even though Mother Nature decided to send us some rain, we weren't about to let that dampen our special day! Thankfully, we were prepared with our event tent and heater to keep everyone warm, dry, and comfortable.
What a beautiful day celebrating our son and daughter-in-law as they begin this new chapter together! ❤️ Having our families gathered in one place, sharing laughter, love, and making memories, truly filled my heart. I know it meant the world to Kyle and Brooke to have everyone together to celebrate their love.
I only wish I had taken more pictures of everything completely set up! I was so busy running around making sure every little finishing touch was just right that I forgot to stop and capture it all. But seeing everyone together and watching the happiness on their faces made every bit of work worthwhile. 🥰
And now, another exciting milestone for our little flower farm! Our first event is officially in the books, and we're ready to welcome more weddings and special occasions in the future!
What a beautiful beginning, not only for Kyle and Brooke, but for our flower farm too! 🌸❤️

🍁🐓 A Little Update from Our Mini Flower Farm! 🌻🚜
There is always something happening around here, and I wouldn't have it any other way! ❤️
Now that we have our new shop, we are turning our old shed into one BIG chicken coop and a little chicken paradise! 🐔 Both coops will be connected to the shed, giving our feathered friends plenty of room, along with a cozy warming and nesting area for winter.
Ryan has been busy learning new skills! He learned how to drive the tractor, hauled a whole bunch of chicken p**p to our compost area (oh, the joys of farm life! 🤣), and helped move the shed to make room for our new setup. I absolutely love watching him learn, work hard, and take such good care of his chickens. ❤️
And of course, he's already making room for DUCKS! 🦆 They'll be part of his FFA school project. Meanwhile, I'm over here dreaming of adding a mini donkey to our little farm... but I'll behave and wait a bit! 😂🫏
We have a whole week off of our regular jobs, to tackle projects and get everything ready for our family wedding reception. So many things to check off our list!
The maple trees are turning the most gorgeous shades of red and orange, there's that wonderful crisp feeling of fall in the air, and believe it or not, our dahlias are STILL blooming! 🌸🍂
Our little farm is full of hard work, happy animals, growing dreams, and plenty of memories in the making. Watching it grow and enjoying these simple moments makes my heart so full.
Life is good, and I feel incredibly blessed. ❤️🍁

Well, sometimes you add new dahlias to your field, and they decide to show up as someone completely different! 😂🌸
This one just opened, yes, another late bloomer, and it is definitely not Robann Royal that I ordered! So I reached out to the most knowledgeable person I know when it comes to dahlias and asked him, "Is this Colorado Classic?" He confirmed it, and now I can properly tag and label it. Thank you, Antonio Toledo
Colorado Classic is a popular bi-color, informal decorative dahlia known for its eye-catching, hand-painted look.
I'm not upset that it isn't the one I ordered. It happens, and sometimes you end up with a beautiful mistake! I'm just going to embrace it and see how well it does. 🌸💕

🌸💜 A Little Late to the Party… But Worth the Wait! 💜🌸
Well, we have a couple of late bloomers who finally decided to show up! 😂 Better late than never, right?
These beauties were actually grown for a wedding, but they didn't quite make their grand entrance in time. Thankfully, we had plenty of other gorgeous purples to fill the gaps!
We're hoping for LOTS of tubers from these two because their colors are absolutely stunning, and we definitely want more of them next year!
We're not sure if their late arrival was due to acclimating to our area or because we kept them separated in pots while they grew. We are extremely careful when introducing new varieties to our field. Keeping our dahlias healthy and disease-free is so important to us!
Last year, we had to remove a couple of plants due to disease concerns. We even removed and replaced the surrounding soil and thoroughly sanitized our tools and tractor to help prevent anything from spreading. It's a lot of extra work, but protecting our field is worth every bit of it! 💚
Now, without further ado, please welcome Mr. Jimmy and Hello Dahlia! 💜🌸
🌸 Hello Dahlia – A newer variety introduced in 2022, and what a beauty she is! She's an informal decorative dahlia with glowing magenta blooms that gradually age into a gorgeous hot pink. Her blooms reach around 6 inches across, and she's definitely a keeper!
💜 Mr. Jimmy – Oh, this handsome fella! A smaller formal decorative dahlia with rich, saturated purple and plum tones. He's one of our true purples, and that color is absolutely gorgeous!
And guess what? We still have TWO more varieties getting ready to bloom for the very first time! As soon as they make their appearance, you know I'll be sharing them with you! 😍
🌸 Our flower stand will continue to be stocked through November, or until Mother Nature decides to freeze us out! 🍂
We feel incredibly blessed to still have so many beautiful blooms this late in the season. Every extra day in the flower field is a gift, and we love getting to share these beauties with all of you!
