Ready to take your pottery from “nice” to next-level?
Saturday April 18, 2:00 pm - Join Cheryl for an immersive glaze workshop where art meets science. This hands-on experience will guide you through the fundamentals of glaze application while uncovering what really happens when glaze meets clay and heat.
Through demonstrations, visual examples, and test glazing, you’ll explore techniques like dipping, pouring, brushing, and layering to create unique surface effects. We’ll also break down glaze composition and firing variables—so you’ll understand not just how to glaze, but why it behaves the way it does.
The workshop emphasizes not only how to apply a glaze, but also the basics of why it behaves the way it does. We’ll discuss glaze composition, firing vs application variables, and how these influence color, texture, and durability.
Whether you’re looking to refine your skills or gain more control over your results, this workshop will leave you feeling confident and inspired in your ceramic practice.
Please bring 1 bisque-fired bowl to use during the workshop—any size or shape is welcome. Imperfect pieces are encouraged, as we’ll be testing several techniques on this bowl.
