New Project | Mini- Reni

We love a good Mini-Reni—because creating a fresh, elevated home doesn’t always mean starting over.

For our newest project, we’re taking the elements that already work and thoughtfully updating the ones that are keeping the home rooted in the past. The goal: move this traditional home toward a more refined, transitional aesthetic while respecting its original character.

We’ll be refinishing the existing hardwoods, introducing a fresh wall and trim color palette, refacing and professionally spraying the kitchen cabinetry, and layering in updated finishes and details that give the entire space a more current point of view.

Traditional bones. Transitional details. A completely refreshed feel.

That’s what we love about our Mini-Reni designs + installations: working with what’s worth keeping, changing what matters, and creating a transformation without unnecessarily starting from scratch.

Not every project needs an audience.

Social media has created an unspoken pressure for designers to constantly prove they’re working—posting every project, every detail, every stage of the process.

But not everything needs to be content.

There is value in building quietly.

Protecting a client’s privacy builds trust and respect. Keep project details limited. Be intentional about what you share, when you share it, and why you’re sharing it.

And never let the motivation for sharing a project become proving something to your peers.

Some of the best work happens without an audience.

Anonymity goes a long way.

BRANDING IS AN EXPERIENCE.

Long before a customer remembers exactly what you said or what they purchased, they remember how your brand made them feel.

That’s where experiential marketing and interior design meet.

Color. Lighting. Texture. Sound. Signage. Materials. Even the way a customer moves through a space—all of it communicates something about your brand before a single word is spoken.

Not every creative idea I’ve had has been lucrative—or even successful.

From developing products for Walmart’s Get on the Shelf contest to eventually starting my own design firm, most of my ideas began the same way: with a passion to solve a problem.

Some worked. Some didn’t. Some led me somewhere completely different than I expected.

But I’ve learned that an idea doesn’t have to become a huge success to have purpose.

When the Lord gives you an idea, sometimes your job isn’t to know exactly how it will turn out. Your job is simply to say yes and move.

Start small.
Set the goal.
Risk failure.
Learn.
Adjust.
Keep moving.

Because an idea without action stays an idea.

When God gives you the vision, your cue is to move.

Everything flows from the home. When our homes are out of order, we often feel it everywhere—in our work, our relationships, and even the simplest parts of daily life.

A home doesn’t have to be magazine-ready to be excellent. It doesn’t have to be perfect but how we care for it is where excellence begins.
