Sanctuaryiam

Sanctuaryiam SanctuaryIAM is a St. Louis-based interior design company serving homeowners, businesses, and community organizations locally and nationwide.

We create beautiful, functional spaces that support well-being, productivity, and everyday living. Sanctuary is a holistic health and lifestyle practice designed for professional women who seek to live intentionally and show up powerfully in every area of their lives. Rooted in the philosophy that intentionality is where true power lies, Sanctuary integrates spiritual, physical, experiential, and

spatial wellness to help women thrive in their bodies, spaces, and roles. The business offers tailored fitness, health, wellness, interior decor, and personal styling services, creating a space where women can elevate their well-being, confidently embrace their purpose, to ultimately seize their power. Key offerings include health and wellness assessments, functional medicine, fitness and diet plans, personal styling, curated interior spaces, and even a personal chef for meal prep. Launching in January 2025, Sanctuary is more than a wellness practice—it's a transformative journey to empower women to live fully and intentionally.

The most memorable interiors don't just look beautiful. They communicate identity.

Every design decision contributes to the story a space tells, from the materials and lighting to the artwork and architectural details.

Here, a functional bookshelf becomes something more. It reflects the character of the space and gives visitors an experience they'll remember.

The most impactful spaces don't ask for your attention. They earn it.

Monday Perspective

While preparing for a project in this home, I found myself thinking less about what could be changed and more about what was already there.

This artwork reflected a life rich with experiences.

Travel. Culture. Curiosity. Pieces collected over time instead of purchased all at once.
It reminded me how quickly we can focus on what's missing while overlooking the things that already give our spaces meaning.

Creating a sanctuary begins by recognizing what already has meaning.

My hope for you this week is that you'll pause long enough to notice the people, memories, and spaces that already restore you.

One of the most common things we notice during client walkthroughs isn't poor design. It's unfinished design.

Most of us finish the spaces everyone else will see first.

Then life gets busy.

A bathroom wall stays blank.
A hallway never comes together.
A corner waits for "someday."

A space doesn't always need a complete makeover.

Sometimes it simply needs thoughtful editing.

What's one space that's still waiting for its finishing touch?

Ten years.

Ten years since my father passed, and while I miss him every day, I’m more than okay because he prepared me well for life, including the reality that one day he would leave it.

What he gave me in 36 years was more than enough for a lifetime.

His steady love and presence became the bedrock of my self-assuredness and confidence.

This old fuzzy photo reminds me of that. While my older siblings were off on their own adventures, he made sure I had my own.

He taught me how to think critically, how to trust myself, and how to become my own sanctuary.

Because it’s never just about how long someone is here.

It’s about the quality of what they deposit while they are.

Happy Father’s Day to the men whose love and presence leave a legacy that outlives them. 🤎

Slowing down and easing into the weekend.

The porch is a major part of how I do this. A place to think, breathe, read, meditate, and realign before stepping back into all that life and leadership require.

At SanctuaryIAM, this is at the heart of what we believe: our spaces should support our wellbeing, not just our routines.

And today, on Juneteenth, I’m especially mindful that freedom is 1000% my “why.” The freedom to rest. The freedom to create. The freedom to build spaces, businesses, and futures with intention.

Because true freedom should move us beyond ourselves. To be free enough to create solutions so others can experience that freedom too.

As we head into the weekend, I hope you find room to pause, exhale, and restore.

What spaces nurture you and help you create?

Happy Juneteenth. 🤎

May your week be filled with peace, purpose, and spaces that support both.

Whether you're leading a business, caring for a family, or pursuing a dream, remember that the environments around us influence how we think, feel, and show up each day.

Here's to a beautiful and intentional week ahead.

One of the first conversations we have with clients isn't about colors, furniture, or finishes.

It's about budget.

Not because we want to limit possibilities, but because a clear budget helps us design strategically from the very beginning.

One of the biggest misconceptions in interior design is that great spaces require unlimited resources. In reality, thoughtful planning and intentional investments often have a greater impact than simply spending more.

Our role as designers is not to spend your budget. Our role is to help protect it by prioritizing what matters most, avoiding costly missteps, and creating a space that aligns with your goals.

I've shared a new blog post on why defining your budget before a project begins can lead to better decisions, fewer surprises, and a more successful design experience.

Not every space needs a complete makeover.

This client initially thought she wanted an entirely new room. But through our conversations, it became clear that she loved the vibrant colors and furnishings that reflected her personality.

Instead of starting over, we focused on enhancing what she already loved with new flooring, updated lighting, fresh artwork, and thoughtful finishing touches.

Her response?

"My space inspires me."

For her, it was important that when she came home, her space felt inspiring, energizing, and uniquely hers.

You are your own Sanctuary, and the spaces you live and work in should reflect this.
