“What exactly are heritage grains?”

Here’s the simple answer 👇🏼

Heritage grains are older varieties of wheat that existed before modern hybridization changed how grain was grown and processed.

Why does that matter?

Because food wasn’t always optimized for yield and shelf life.
It was grown for nourishment.

We choose to bake with heritage hard red wheat because:

I started 2025 knowing two things:
Our 2nd child would be arriving and shortly after that the end of my career position would be coming.
With all endings come new beginnings? ✨

I ended 2025 with our beautiful baby girl, as the owner of Love & Loaf and so much more than I, a year ago, could’ve imagined.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your support in this journey! As long as you all will let me keep blessing your homes and bellies with fresh baked goodies I will be here ☺️

For 2026 - I have many ideas on where to go but if 2025 taught me anything it was that only time will tell where I might end up!
