Thank you so much for all your support for our little pop-up shop! This was truly an amazing experience, and I'm so excited for Pender & Peony's future.

The brick and mortar may be closing, but the online shop will sally forth and I will continue to bring you amazing antique treasures online.

The next few months will be a little wild and wooly, but P&P isn't going anywhere.

Stop by this week to say goodbye and shop our moving sale!

It’s time to say goodbye to the Market Street Pop-up!
Wow! What a beautiful few months it has been working out of our Market street location. I loved getting to meet so many of you and help you find treasures for your home and gifts for loved ones.

This will be our last official week with regular hours at the 346 location Thursday - Saturday 11AM - 4PM.

I know you are wondering what’s next and why the shop was such a brief project. The big news is…

We are moving states!

That’s right bye bye Tennessee. You can thank my hubby and his successful career. We will be re-locating to South Carolina sometime before the end of the year.

I’ve put a number of curios on sale this week to get ready for the move, and you can find even more deals if you stop in and shop with us in person. If you spied something in the shop that you’ve consider buying — now is the time!

Pattern play... it's a conversation! As you can see...I love a bold mix of patterns! Here in my master bedroom I've mixed chintz, gingham, stripes, marbled, and a scrolling fern.

Probably one of my most asked questions is how do I mix patterns and know what patterns will work together. The two big things you've got to consider are color and scale!

The colors in the patterns need to coordinate and you need one or two that repeat from pattern to pattern. Here the repeating colors are green, blue, and a rosy pink/red hue.

The scales have to vary. If you have too many large or small patterns layered on top of each other your eye just sees chaos and the pattern play won't work.

Don't forget to give moments of rest too! Even though our master has a strong pattern game there are large solid swaths from the white duvet to the pale blue walls.

Did you know Blue Willow is actually based on this Chinese export pattern? This blue and white china is called Blue Canton, and named after the city Canton (Guangzhou) from which it was exported.

This ready-made pattern usually served as ballast on the cargo ships and was loaded first before the more precious commodity of tea because it could withstand salt water. Then sold directly from the ship once it reached American ports.

It became hugely popular on American dinner tables in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Check out the available collection in the shop, including dinner plates, platters, and more!
