Cinnamon Rolls Recipe

Ingredients

Dough

* 4 cups (500g) all-purpose flour
* 1 cup (240ml) warm milk
* 2¼ tsp (7g) active dry yeast
* ¼ cup (50g) sugar
* 1 egg
* ¼ cup (60g) melted butter
* 1 tsp salt

Filling

* ½ cup (115g) softened butter
* ¾ cup (150g) brown sugar
* 2 tbsp ground cinnamon

Cream Cheese Glaze

* 4 oz (115g) cream cheese, softened
* 2 tbsp butter, softened
* 1 cup (120g) powdered sugar
* 1–2 tbsp milk
* ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Prepare the Dough
* Mix warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
* Add egg, melted butter, and salt.
* Gradually mix in flour until a soft dough forms.
* Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth.
* Cover and let rise for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
2. Roll the Dough
* Roll dough into a rectangle about 12×18 inches (30×45 cm).
3. Add Filling
* Spread softened butter over the dough.
* Mix brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle evenly.
4. Shape the Rolls
* Roll tightly into a log from the long side.
* Slice into 12 equal rolls.
5. Second Rise
* Place rolls in a greased baking dish or tray.
* Cover and let rise for 30–45 minutes.
6. Bake
* Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
7. Glaze
* Mix cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
* Spread over warm cinnamon rolls.
