The past few weeks (months?) we’ve been helping clients and friends navigate postponing the big celebration, while still planning for an intimate ceremony now. It’s a great time to focus on the accessories that can translate to both days, so both events feel connected. Thinking of the upcoming Cinco de Mayo holiday and ways to have a festive celebration at home! Sasha and Phil’s reception immediately comes to mind. Their April day brought idyllic spring weather, perfect for walking through Fells Point with to snag all the good photo spots. We’ve remained rather quiet on social media with everything going on—it certainly is unbelievable what has transpired over the past few days. Among numerous other small businesses, we know we are not the only ones feeling the weight of this situation. Springtime for us usually means lots of home organization, travel management, and event planning...sadly that has all been canceled or postponed.

Colleen was able to sneak away for a few days in early March, so I’m looking back at her pics for for some uplifting inspiration. We are practicing and catching up via FaceTime while all of us at figure this out. The newly-cleared calendars will be filled once again, we know it! 👊🏼📆 -NK

This photo encompasses more than our wedding rings and invitation. Taylor and his dad traveled to New York to hand-select my yellow diamond and setting. Months later, the three of us returned to the city to design my wedding band. My dad purchased Taylor’s band at the famous gold bazaar in Iran (we literally FaceTimed to pick out our favorite!). Our invitation suite was a fabulous collaboration between my sisters, mom, and . I was *just* slightly obsessed with the lilac-hued envelope and series of curated vintage stamps! 💛

The wedding planning process is certainly overwhelming at times, but looking back at something like this reminds me of the bonding time with family, excitement surrounding the event, and anticipation of the big day! —NK

Let’s talk wedding day formalities. When our couples hire us for their wedding day, they are not only hiring us for our planning knowledge, they are hiring us for general advice and guidance. I can’t tell you how many times we are asked our opinion on the traditional bride and groom first dance, speeches, and parent dances. Our advice? Forget the traditions and do what speaks to YOU. Taylor and I couldn’t imagine taking a formal first dance seriously on our wedding day, so we didn’t. We staged this photo during our ballroom reveal, and that was perfectly fine with us. —NK
